The wheelchair track anchorages may not sufficiently secure a wheelchair and detach during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 222, "school bus passenger seating and crash protection." dealers will reattach the transversal anchorages, free of charge. Recall 132601 [USA]: If roof crushes more than the rollover standards allow for the weight and configuration of the bus, the occupants have a greater risk of injury in the event of a rollover crash.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 220, "school bus rollover protection." micro bird will notify owners, and dealers will modify the buses to prevent the roof from crushing excessively in a rollover, free of charge. Recall 112259 [USA]: If the bearings move out of position, the stowed platform may have excessive movement resulting in failure of the platform mounting. this failure could cause the wheel chair lift platform to fall out of the vehicle when the doors are opened, increasing the risk of injury for the lift operator.

(micro bird) is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 mb ii, g5, and ct-series transit buses manufactured january 1, 2006, to december 31, 2014, equipped with certain model s2005, s2010, s5005, s5010, s5505, and s5510 wheelchair lifts built by the ricon corporation. The affected lifts are equipped with folding link arms that may have pivot holes that are too big, allowing the bearings to move out of position. micro bird will notify owners, and ricon dealers will inspect the link arms for damage or for displaced bearings. The platform will be inspected for cracks. Any damaged parts will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on december 13, 2015. Recall 108493 [USA]: If the platform side plates crack, the lift platform can separate from the lift and come to rest against the vehicle's lift door. when the doors are opened, the platform may fall out, increasing the risk of injury to the lift operator.

(micro bird) is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 mb ii and g5 transit buses manufactured january 1, 2006, to january 9, 2014, and equipped with certain model s2005, s2010, s5005, s5010, s5505, and s5510 wheelchair lifts manufactured by ricon corporation. The platform side plate of the affected wheelchair lifts may crack. micro bird will notify owners and ricon will supply supplemental platform support bumpers. Any platform that has already started cracking will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on december 1, 2014. Recall 2021779 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
Issue: on certain buses, a fold-away seat was placed next to the emergency exit window. When the seat is folded, it may block the instruction label and release handle for the emergency exit. As a result, you may not be able to open the exit window without unfolding the seat. Safety risk: an emergency exit that is difficult to open could slow your exit from the bus in an emergency. This could create an increased risk of injury. Corrective action: micro bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a dealer to have your vehicle(s) inspected and repaired.
Recall 2021436 [Canada]: Structure
Issue: on certain buses, the service door may not be adjusted correctly. As a result, the door panels may get stuck when the emergency release handle is used, or may not open when force is applied to the door. Additionally, the exterior emergency release handle may not allow the service door to be opened from outside of the bus. Safety risk: a door that cannot be opened could delay exiting the bus in an emergency. This could also delay emergency response. Both of these issues could increase the risk of injury. Corrective actions: micro bird will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a dealer to adjust the service door. Alternatively, micro bird will provide owners instructions on how to correctly adjust the service door.
Recall 2015568 [Canada]: Accessories
On certain buses equipped with a ricon wheelchair lift, the lift platform sides may crack, which could cause the lift to lean against the vehicle door(s) and potentially fall out of the vehicle when the doors are opened, putting the lift operator at risk of injury. Correction: owners will be provided with inspection and repair instructions, as well as necessary repair parts.
Recall 2022219 [Canada]: Electrical
Issue: on certain buses, an unused wiring harness located in the b-pillar area could become damaged. If this happens, the wires could short circuit. Note: this recall only affects buses built on a general motors chassis. Safety risk: a short circuit could create the risk of a fire.
