Recall 2021779 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
Issue: on certain buses, a fold-away seat was placed next to the emergency exit window. When the seat is folded, it may block the instruction label and release handle for the emergency exit. As a result, you may not be able to open the exit window without unfolding the seat. Safety risk: an emergency exit that is difficult to open could slow your exit from the bus in an emergency. This could create an increased risk of injury. Corrective action: micro bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a dealer to have your vehicle(s) inspected and repaired.
Recall 2021436 [Canada]: Structure
Issue: on certain buses, the service door may not be adjusted correctly. As a result, the door panels may get stuck when the emergency release handle is used, or may not open when force is applied to the door. Additionally, the exterior emergency release handle may not allow the service door to be opened from outside of the bus. Safety risk: a door that cannot be opened could delay exiting the bus in an emergency. This could also delay emergency response. Both of these issues could increase the risk of injury. Corrective actions: micro bird will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a dealer to adjust the service door. Alternatively, micro bird will provide owners instructions on how to correctly adjust the service door.
Recall 2021047 [Canada]: Electrical
Issue: on certain vehicles, wires and/or connectors located in the wall behind the driver's seat may have been damaged during the assembly process. Corrective actions: micro bird will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect the wiring and connectors, and repair any damage that is found.
Recall 2018690 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
Certain buses built on a gm or ford chassis may have been equipped with defective go-es foldaway seats. Correction: dealers will inspect, and if necessary, repair and re-inspect the seat using the provided procedure.
Recall 2018548 [Canada]: Accessories
On certain buses equipped with a ricon s-series or k-series titanium wheelchair lift, the lift positioning input cam may fail. If this happens and the operator continues to press the "up" button, the platform could travel past the vehicle floor height, potentially causing a lift occupant to be tipped inwards toward the vehicle, which could increase the risk of injury. Correction: a ricon authorized dealer will perform the repairs.
Recall 2018405 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
On certain buses, the passenger shoulder belt anchorage plate(s) may not be attached correctly. In the event of a crash, the belt anchorage plate may become partially or totally detached, reducing the capacity of the shoulder belt to retain the passenger, resulting in an increased risk of injury or fatality. Correction: dealers will inspect, and if necessary, re-install the shoulder belt anchorage plate using the correct procedure.
Recall 2016290 [Canada]: Structure
Certain buses may have been manufactured with defective t-sliding windows that could allow water to accumulate in the central horizontal bar and not drain out properly. If this condition is present during a cold period, the accumulated water could freeze, expand and permanently deform the horizontal center bar, applying a stress on the glass to a point where it could potentially shatter, increasing the risk of injury. Correction: lippert components canada will provide instructions and some of the equipment necessary to the owners of the affected buses so that they can repair the faulty windows. The equipment that is not supplied is subject to a refund offer.
Recall 2016008 [Canada]: Steering
On certain vehicles built on a ford chassis, wheel alignment adjustment bolts may not have been sufficiently tightened at time of assembly. This could allow suspension and steering components to loosen, potentially resulting in separation, which could affect vehicle handling and steering and result in crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: owners will be given instructions on how to have the bolt tightening torque inspected.
Recall 2015351 [Canada]: Electrical
On certain buses, bolts securing the battery box to the bus body may be missing, causing the number of fasteners securing the battery box to be inadequate. In addition, battery terminal shields may be missing. This could result in the battery box separating from the vehicle and increase the risk of a fire and/or crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace corroded components, add shields and replace missing bolts.
Recall 2015199 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
Certain school buses may not comply with canada motor vehicle safety standard (cmvss 302) – flammability of interior materials. Certain school bus seat bottom assemblies may contain a foam core that does not meet the requirements of the standard. As a result the seat components could burn faster than allowable by the standard, which could increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire. Correction: dealers will replace the seat bottom assembly.
Recall 2022219 [Canada]: Electrical
Issue: on certain buses, an unused wiring harness located in the b-pillar area could become damaged. If this happens, the wires could short circuit. Note: this recall only affects buses built on a general motors chassis. Safety risk: a short circuit could create the risk of a fire.
