• Recall 234148 [USA]: Modified seat belt mounting brackets can fail to properly restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
  Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain 2019-2023 bay star, 2020-2023 bay star sport, and 2022-2023 super star motorhomes. The seat belt brackets for the dinette seat belts were modified to avoid interference with the vehicle slide-out rollers in the floor. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard numbers 210, "seat belt assembly anchorages" and 207, "seating systems."

The wiring under the seats may be incorrectly secured, which can lead to a pinched wire in the seat adjustment mechanism and cause an electrical short circuit.

• Recall 150197 [USA]: A gas leak can increase the risk of a fire.
  Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain 2019-2020 bay star and ventana, 2019 ventana le, 2020 canyon star, dutch star, kountry star and super star and 2021 bay star sport motorhomes equipped with dometic 3 burner cooking stoves. The stove's saddle valve securing bolt may be overtightened, possibly damaging the o-ring seal and causing a continuous gas leak.
  newmar will notify owners, and dealers will install a remedy kit of gaskets, washers, thread locker bolts, and two round orange labels, free of charge. The recall began january 18, 2021. Owners may contact newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300. Newmar's number for this recall is 20e 071.

  Issue: on certain motorhomes equipped with frameless windows, the adhesive that attaches the vented portion of the windows may fail. If this happens, the glass could separate and fall from the motorhome. Safety risk: a window that detaches from the motorhome could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective action: newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorhome to an authorized dealer or service center to inspect and replace the vent window glass, as required.

• Recall 2020559 [Canada]: Accessories
  Issue: on certain motorhomes equipped with a dometic propane gas stove, there could be an odour of propane gas after a short period of use. If a user attempts to tighten the bolt for the stove's valve in order to stop the smell, they could over-tighten the bolt and cause damage to a seal. This can result in a constant gas leak. Safety risk: a propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective action: newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to replace the defective hardware and perform a leak test. If you smell propane gas inside your motorhome, you should evacuate and turn off the gas supply immediately.

The mounting brackets for the rear axel sway bar was missing a bolt in each bracket. Passenger side bracket was hanging below sway bar, driver's side had top bolt missing and was loose. Talked to ford tech and was told to install a grade 8 bolt with a lock washer and nut. These bolts are m16s, grade 10.9, can i replace them with 5/8 inch grade 8 bolts?

New 2021 newmar bay star, which has a 2020 ford f53 chassis. While driving on the freeway the service advancetrac warning appeared on dash along with amber warning light. This disables traction control system including cruise control, hill assist and maybe abs. Problem has yet to be diagnosed/resolved.

New newmar bay star 2021 on a 2020 ford f53 chassis. On our first trip we noticed brake noises. We took it to a ford service center and they reported both front brake pads were cracked and the rotors damaged. This is a brand new rv!

2021 newmar baystar w/ ford f53 chassis. Abs & traction control (advancetrac) lights came on 10 minutes after we took delivery of rv. 32 days in ford service dept. Replaced abs sensor. Replaced ecbm. Performed wiring harness overlay (first partial, then complete). Replaced o-ring + wheel hub + brake rotor assembly. Warning lights went out, but came on again about 250 miles later. Cruise control & hill assist disabled. 11 days in 2nd ford service dept. Removed & replaced entire wiring harness overlay. Warning lights went out. Not sure for how long. Was told ford makes the wiring harness as part of chassis but newmar modifies it when coach put on.
