Recall 128309 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling various 1995-2018 motorhomes. A list of the affected vehicles available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v809-2309.Pdf. These motorhomes are equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Recall 113574 [USA]: Unstable entry and exit steps increase the risk of injury.
Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain model year 2008-2014 bay star, dutch star, and ventana, 2012-2014 bay star sport and ventana vl, 2008-2015 canyon star, 2009-2010 dutch aire and 2008 kountry star motorhomes manufactured may 29, 2007, to january 14, 2015, and equipped with certain coachstep double and triple electric steps manufactured by lippert components. The bolt that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps may fracture allowing the fan gear to disengage from the steps. As a result, the steps may not remain in the expected position and may be unstable. newmar will notify owners, and dealers will install a retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism, free of charge. Recall 113674 [USA]: A circuit breaker that is incorrectly rated for the amperage need increases the risk of a fire.
Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain model year 2007-2012 bay star, ventana vt/vl, dutch aire, dutch star, all-star, mountain aire, and essex motorhomes manufactured january 16, 2007, to may 24, 2012. In the affected vehicles, the circuit breaker for the refrigerator heated water line may be incorrect for the amperage draw. newmar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the motorhome and verify that the circuit breaker rating is correct for the amperage draw, free of charge. The recall began november 6, 2014. Recall 69960 [USA]: A propane leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire and/or explosion causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Newmar is recalling certain model year 2011 bay star ca recreational vehicles manufactured from august 6, 2010, through october 5, 2010, equipped with atwood 35 series range ovens. A potential exists for a small fracture within the line delivering gas to the oven cavity burner. Such a fracture may cause propane gas to leak from the line. newmar is working with atwood and will replace or repair the stoves free of charge. The safety recall began on november 12, 2010. Recall 2017635 [Canada]: Accessories
On certain motorhomes equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly. Recall 2014425 [Canada]: Electrical
On certain motorhomes, the refrigerator heated water line circuit breaker may have the wrong size amperage rating and the 12 volt thermostat and 12 volt heated water line could also be wired incorrectly, causing it to have the incorrect wiring or no power. The incorrect circuit breaker amperage rating could increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will check circuit breaker amperage and correct any wiring issues for thermostat and/or heated water line.
Recall 2010349 [Canada]: Accessories
On certain motorhomes, the atwood 35-series range oven, model number beginning with rv1735, rv2135, ra1735, or ra2135, may develop a small crack within the line delivering gas to the oven cavity burner. A propane leak, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire and/or explosion, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the oven supply tube.
Recall 2016018 [Canada]: Other
On certain motorhomes equipped with lippert components inc. Electric entry steps, an internal bolt on the steps that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps could fracture. This results in the fan gear disengaging from the steps, which could cause the steps to stop in an unexpected position and appear to be loose or unstable. If the steps become unstable, it could cause a person to fall, resulting in injury. Correction: dealers will install a step retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism, and all bolts of the mechanism will also be replaced.
