Recall 128314 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling various 1995-2018 motorhomes. A list of the affected vehicles available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v809-2309.Pdf. These motorhomes are equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Recall 113578 [USA]: Unstable entry and exit steps increase the risk of injury.
Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain model year 2008-2014 bay star, dutch star, and ventana, 2012-2014 bay star sport and ventana vl, 2008-2015 canyon star, 2009-2010 dutch aire and 2008 kountry star motorhomes manufactured may 29, 2007, to january 14, 2015, and equipped with certain coachstep double and triple electric steps manufactured by lippert components. The bolt that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps may fracture allowing the fan gear to disengage from the steps. As a result, the steps may not remain in the expected position and may be unstable. newmar will notify owners, and dealers will install a retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism, free of charge. In the affected vehicles, the microwave may start on its own. newmar will notify owners and dealers. The recall began on april 17, 2014. Recall 97059 [USA]: If motor damage occurs, it is possible that the awning can unfurl unexpectedly, either while the motorhome is at rest or while in transit, increasing the risk of personal injury or a vehicle crash.
Newmar corporation is recalling certain model year 2013 bay star sport, ventana and ventana le and model year 2013-2014 bay star, canyon star and dutch star motorhomes. If the awning installation sequence was not completely followed, the awning motor may unknowingly become damaged. newmar will notify owners and dometic staff will replace the affected motors with a design that is not subject to an out-of-sequence installation error. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly. On certain motorhomes equipped with lippert components inc. Electric entry steps, an internal bolt on the steps that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps could fracture. This results in the fan gear disengaging from the steps, which could cause the steps to stop in an unexpected position and appear to be loose or unstable. If the steps become unstable, it could cause a person to fall, resulting in injury. Correction: dealers will install a step retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism, and all bolts of the mechanism will also be replaced.
