Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain 2019-2022 bay star, bay star sport, ventana, dutch star, new aire, canyon star, 2019 ventana le, 2020-2022 kountry star, 2019-2020 mountain aire, london aire, essex, and 2021 super star vehicles. The wiring under the seats may be incorrectly secured, which can lead to a pinched wire in the seat adjustment mechanism and cause an electrical short circuit. dealers will inspect and secure the wiring, adding circuit breaker and fuse protection as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on june 10, 2022. Recall 150198 [USA]: A gas leak can increase the risk of a fire.
Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain 2019-2020 bay star and ventana, 2019 ventana le, 2020 canyon star, dutch star, kountry star and super star and 2021 bay star sport motorhomes equipped with dometic 3 burner cooking stoves. The stove's saddle valve securing bolt may be overtightened, possibly damaging the o-ring seal and causing a continuous gas leak. newmar will notify owners, and dealers will install a remedy kit of gaskets, washers, thread locker bolts, and two round orange labels, free of charge. The recall began january 18, 2021. Owners may contact newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300. Recall 2021457 [Canada]: Other
Issue: on certain motorhomes equipped with frameless windows, the adhesive that attaches the vented portion of the windows may fail. If this happens, the glass could separate and fall from the motorhome. Safety risk: a window that detaches from the motorhome could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective action: newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorhome to an authorized dealer or service center to inspect and replace the vent window glass, as required.
Recall 2020559 [Canada]: Accessories
Issue: on certain motorhomes equipped with a dometic propane gas stove, there could be an odour of propane gas after a short period of use. If a user attempts to tighten the bolt for the stove's valve in order to stop the smell, they could over-tighten the bolt and cause damage to a seal. This can result in a constant gas leak. Safety risk: a propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective action: newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to replace the defective hardware and perform a leak test. If you smell propane gas inside your motorhome, you should evacuate and turn off the gas supply immediately.
Recall 2022175 [Canada]: Electrical
Issue: on certain motorhomes, the wiring under the front seats may not be properly secured. As a result, the wiring could be damaged when the seat is moved. If this happens, the wiring could short circuit. Safety risk: a short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective actions: newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorhome to a dealership to inspect the wiring under the front seats. The wiring will be protected and secured, as required. The dealer will also make changes to the circuit protection.
