  • Recall 2018456 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
On certain replacement seat belts sold through prevost’s part and service center for use on recaro am72 or am80 driver seats, the buckle assembly of the driver’s seat belt may be defective. This may result in an inability to insert the seat belt tongue into the buckle assembly. In the event of a crash, an unbuckled seat belt may increase the risk of injury to the driver. Correction: owners will be contacted by nova bus and supplied with the inspection and repair instructions. Replacement driver seat belts and hardware will be provided by nova bus as required.

  • Recall 2015064 [Canada]: Brakes
On certain buses, the retaining ring may have been incorrectly installed on certain airlines in the rear brake system. If this occurred, the airline may detach itself resulting in loss of rear brake control increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will inspect airline and repair as needed.

  • Recall 2014262 [Canada]: Brakes
Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of canada motor vehicle safety standard 121 - air brake systems. The abs malfunction light may not illuminate if the abs control unit loses power, contrary to the requirements of the standard. This could result in loss of abs function going unnoticed by the driver, which could affect braking system function, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will reprogram the instrument cluster.

  • Recall 2009050 [Canada]: Electrical
On certain transit buses, the main power cables could become damaged by rubbing against the ground cable. Chafing damage could cause an electrical short which may result in a vehicle fire. Correction: dealers will reroute the main ground cable.

  • Recall 2009349 [Canada]: Other
On certain buses, the led sign, mounted to the side of the bus to display destination message, could suffer electronic circuit board corrosion. This could cause an electrical short circuit, which could result in a fire causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: luminator will replace the electrical circuit connector board.

  • Recall 2008133 [Canada]: Other
On certain buses, rear door controls may function erratically when the operator cancels the opening of the rear doors by turning the door control lever to the neutral position. When the door is almost closed (approx. 80%) and a passenger approaches, the door initiates its closing cycle even as the infrared sensor is activated by the passenger. As a result, the passenger may be struck by the door panels, or become trapped between them, potentially resulting in personal injury. As well, the vehicle may start to move even though the door is not completely closed. Correction: owners will be provided with updated v-bea system software.

  • Recall 2008146 [Canada]: Electrical
On certain buses, the main power cable may have been installed too close to the transmission. Should the cable retaining clamp fail, the cable could rub against the transmission, and suffer chafe damage. Electrical arcing could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: dealers will reroute the main power cable.

  • Recall 2007121 [Canada]: Brakes
On certain transit buses, the air dryer assembly may have a faulty electronic control module. Air entering the brake system may not have moisture removed. If not properly drained, small ice crystals may form in the brake system. This could impair proper functioning of the air brake system and cause a vehicle crash. Correction: dealers will replace the control module.

  • Recall 2006182 [Canada]: Heater and defroster
On certain low-floor buses, the silicone elbow hoses used on the roof-mounted heating system could wear prematurely and burst. As a result, hot engine coolant could leak into the passenger compartment and cause injuries to the passengers. Correction: dealers will replace the silicone elbows with rigid elbows.

  • Recall 2022248 [Canada]: Lights and instruments
Issue: on certain buses, a message board on the rear of the bus displays momentary text when the stop lamps or turn signals are used. These momentary text messages could cause confusion for other road users. Safety risk: text messages about the stop lamps and turn signals that are displayed on the rear of the bus could cause confusion for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: nova bus will notify owners in writing and provide them with directions for removing the rear message board.

  • Recall 2009050 [Canada]: Electrical
On certain transit buses, the main power cables could become damaged by rubbing against the ground cable. Chafing damage could cause an electrical short which may result in a vehicle fire. Correction: dealers will reroute the main ground cable.
