• Recall 60486 [USA]: This condition could affect vehicle throttle control and braking, thereby leading to loss of vehicle steering control which could cause a crash without warning.
  On certain trucks equipped with the bendix electronic stability control (esp) system, the system uses multiple sensors and an electronic control unit (ecu) to control vehicle under steer, over-steer, and rollover situations. The system relies on vehicle sensors to be functioning and aligned properly. The steering angle sensor has the potential to be misaligned with the steering column shaft, thereby providing incorrect information to the bendix ecu.
  because of the immediate and substantial risk, kenworth and peterbilt dealers will first deactivate the yaw control feature of the bendix esp system preventing inadvertent esp activation. When parts are available, the steering column will be replaced to insure proper alignment of the steering shaft sensor and the full esp system will be reactivated. • Recall 55858 [USA]: A possible vehicle crash could occur should the seat fall backwards during use.
  On certain heavy duty trucks, the pivot bolts which hold the seat back frame to the seat cushion frame can loosen and possibly fracture or dislodge, causing the seat back to fail to provide full support to the driver.

• Recall 2015095 [Canada]: Label
  Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of canada motor vehicle safety standard 120 - tire selection and rims. The tire information label may indicate incorrect tire pressure, understated by 5 psi, or a tire/rim/inflation pressure combination for which the maximum gawr is slightly below the gawr of the vehicle. Underinflated tires may not be capable of supporting the maximum load as reflected by the gawr and gvwr specified on the certification label, which could cause tire failure resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: manufacturer will mail new tire and rims certification label.

An oil leak could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: caterpillar dealers will replace the vva oil line with an updated version.

• Recall 2005372 [Canada]: Other
  On certain vehicles, the steering shaft sensor of the electronic stability program (esp) may be misaligned, giving incorrect vehicle information to the electronic control unit (ecu). This could affect vehicle throttle control and braking systems. Correction: dealers will first disable the yaw-control function of the esp system. Once parts are available, the dealer will replace the steering column to insure proper alignment of the steering shaft sensor, and reactivate the full esp system.

  On certain vehicles equipped with a caterpillar engine, the variable valve actuation oil line (vva line) used on 6 cylinder, 15l turbocharged and air-to-air aftercooled diesel engines may wear against the sharp edge of the cylinder head if not oriented correctly. Oil line wear may cause an oil leak and a potential fire hazard. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the vva line.

2005 peterbilt 387. Consumer requests reimbursement for repairs *tgw the consumer stated prior to the recall, he had to fix several oil leaks on the truck and incurred costly expenses. The truck had to be towed due to a hole in the vva oil line. *jb

Dt*: the contact stated while driving various speeds on rough road conditions, the air tank bracket of the air brake supply fractured without warning. The vehicle was inspected by an independent repair shop and a dealer who replaced the air brackets, but the problem continued to occur. The manufacturer was contacted.
