Recall RSPV/2017/003 [UK]: Engine ecu software incomplete
Polaris industries inc. (polaris) have issued a stop ride stop sale notice on some model year 2016 rzr s 1000 and general vehicles. It has been identified the engine ecu fitted to these machines have not been installed with a misfire detection calibration. This may allow unburned fuel to enter the exhaust system which can cause excessive exhaust heat that may pose a fire hazard. recall all affected machines and install new software.
Recall RSPV/2017/016 [UK]: Movement may occur along the length of the power steering spline
It has been determined that the upper steering shafts on 2016-2017 general vehicles may exhibit movement along the length of the power steering spline. In extreme circumstances this movement may ultimately result in separation of the shaft from the spline which may lead to the loss of steering. This movement may ultimately result in separation of the shaft from the spline which may lead to the loss of steering polaris is releasing this safety bulletin for dealers to install revised steering shaft hardware with a higher torque and clamp-load specification.
Recall RSPV/2017/002 [UK]: Unintended brake drag
Polaris industries inc. (polaris) have issued a stop ride stop sale notice on a small number of 2016-2017 rzr and general vehicles. It has been identified that the brake master cylinder on these machine may have been contaminated during manufacture. This can cause the front brake circuit seal to swell. The swollen seal may cause unintended brake drag resulting in a potential fire and/or burn hazard. recall all affected machines to check the master cylinder and replace the master cylinder if found to be defective.
Recall RSPV/2020/023 [UK]: Fuel pump flange may degrade over time and result in fuel leak
A fuel pump flange assembly that when exposed to certain chemicals may degrade over time. install a model specific fuel pump cover to shield the pump flange from potential contamination.
Recall 2020496 [Canada]: Fuel supply
Issue: on certain side-by-side utvs, the fuel pump flange could crack or the nozzle could separate. If this happens, there could be a fuel leak. Safety risk: a fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective actions: polaris will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install a protective cover over the fuel pump flange. To reduce the safety risk, polaris recommends that you should avoid riding your utv until the recall repairs have been completed.
Recall 2017523 [Canada]: Steering
On certain side-by-side utv’s, the steering shaft may move along the power steering splines, and in some circumstances, the shaft may move far enough to separate from the splines. If the shaft were to separate from the splines during vehicle operation, it would result in a loss of steering control, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace and increase the torque of the fastener used to attach the steering shaft to the spline. Note: in the interim, owners are advised to stop riding their utv until the recall repair has been performed.
Recall 2017101 [Canada]: Fuel supply
On certain side-by-side utv’s, the engine may misfire and cause unburned fuel to be routed into the exhaust system. This could result in excessive exhaust heat that may pose a fire hazard which could cause injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will update the ecu with software that includes misfire detection. Note: in the interim, owners are advised to not operate their vehicle until the defect has been repaired.
Recall 2017100 [Canada]: Brakes
On certain side-by-side utvs, the front brake circuit seal may be swollen due to an error in manufacturing. This could result in unintended brake drag, which could affect vehicle acceleration and cause undesired deceleration, produce excessive brake heat, and premature wear to brake components and could increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: dealers will check the date code of the master cylinder, and if it falls within the suspect date range, dealers will inspect the master cylinder for contamination and will replace the brake master cylinder as necessary. Note: in the interim, owners are advised to not operate their vehicle until the defect has been repaired.
