  Polaris inc. (polaris) is recalling certain 2015-2019 slingshot motorcycles. Excessive electrical current may damage the battery fuse holder terminals.

• Recall 152951 [USA]: If the seat belt buckle or seat back detach from the seat base, there would be an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash. if the driver's seat unexpectedly moves, it can cause the driver to lose control of the motorcycle, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Polaris industries, inc. (polaris) is recalling certain 2018-2019 slingshot motorcycles. The driver-seat and passenger-seat seat belt and seat back anchoring bracket may have been improperly welded. Additionally, differences in the seat assembly may prevent proper latching of the seat slider, allowing the driver's seat to move unexpectedly.
  polaris will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seat belt bracket and seat back welds, and the seat slider latching function. If the weld is missing or incomplete, or if the slider doesn't latch properly, the seat bases will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began april 11, 2019.   Polaris industries, inc. (polaris) is recalling certain 2017-2019 polaris slingshot s, slingshot sl, slingshot gt le, and slingshot slr motorcycles. In the event of a crash, the seatbelt retractor on the side opposite of the impact may separate, preventing the seatbelt from locking.

• Recall 2019545 [Canada]: Electrical
  Issue: on certain vehicles, the terminals of the battery fuse block could be damaged during normal driving. This can result in a loss of forward and rear lighting, a loss of gauges, and a loss of power steering assist. Safety risk: a loss of forward lighting would reduce visibility. A loss of rear lighting could make the vehicle less visible and cause a following driver to not recognize that a vehicle ahead is braking. A loss of power steering assist could make the vehicle difficult to steer. These failures could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: polaris will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the battery fuse block terminals and relocate the 50-a chassis fuse.

  Issue: on certain vehicles, the seat base may have been assembled improperly. This could cause the seat belt buckle to detach or cause the seat slider not to latch properly. This could result in unexpected movement of the seat or seat back. Safety risk: if the seat moves while driving, vehicle control could be affected. In a crash, a seat that moves or a seat belt that separates could increase the risk of injury. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the seat belt bracket and the seat slider latch inspected. If an incomplete or missing weld is found, or if a slider does not latch properly, the seat base will be replaced. Note: this supersedes recall 2018-144. Vehicles repaired under the previous recall do not require repair under this recall.

  On certain vehicles, a problem with the seat belts could cause them not to stay tight during a side crash. Specifically, the seat belt retractor on the opposite side of the impact may separate and fail to keep the belt locked, creating an increased risk of injury. Correction: dealers will install energy management loops that provide secondary retention of the seat belt and reduce lateral loading.

  Certain vehicles may fail to conform to the requirements of canada motor vehicle safety standard (cmvss) 111 – mirrors and rear visibility systems. The rear view image can be temporarily obscured by the ‘settings’ screen and/or a radio volume graphic box if the rider changes those settings prior to shifting into reverse, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. This could increase the risk of property damage or injury to nearby pedestrians in the event the driver does not check surroundings through traditional means. Correction: dealers will update the vehicle software.

If the seat were to slide unexpectedly, vehicle control could be affected, and/or in the event of a crash, if the seat belt buckle and seat back were to dislodge from the seat base, an occupant may not be properly restrained, which would increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will inspect the weld of the seat belt bracket and inspect the seat slider latching function. Tl* the contact owns a 2018 polaris slingshot. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v750000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact called freedom powersports weatherford (3202 east interstate highway 20, hudson oaks, tx 76087; (817)241-2031) where it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact was also informed that parts would be available between august-september 2020. Until then, it was recommended that the motorcycle not be driven. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called ridenow powersports peoria & indian motorcycle peoria (8546 w ludlow dr, suite 100, peoria, az 85381, (877) 822-1352) and was informed that the parts were on backorder until december 5, 2019. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: c/6129161t0c1h6. No further assistance was provided. The contact had not experienced a failure. The vin was invalid.

The vehicle was being personally inspected while stationary. I have noticed a significant wear difference in the right front brake rotor while it is being bedded. Upon closer inspection, i have determined that there are 2 different front rotor types on this vehicle. The right rotor is a single piece rotor while the left rotor is the dual-piece rotor that is supposed to be on the slr version. According to the manual, the single rotor minimum thickness is front 4.5mm, rear 6.5mm while the dual-rotor minimum thickness is front 19mm, rear 19m. They are significantly different sizes which will possibly cause adverse braking action and possible loss of control of the vehicle.
