• Recall RSPV/2008/003 [UK]: Possible over heating of electronic control module
  Some atv models may have been assembled with electronic control modules (ecm) that could contain a defective cooling fan field effect transistor (fet) which affects the atv's cooking fan system. Should the fet fail in most cases it will drain the vehicle battery and the vehicle will not start. However in extreme circumstances it can cause the ecm to fail and overheat which could cause a fire.
  the manufacturer is to recall all affected vehicles to replace the ecm with a die-cast version which does not contain any combustible material.

If this were to occur, the excessive heat could cause a fire, possibly resulting in property damage and/or severe personal injury or death. Owners are advised to stop riding their atv's and to disconnect the battery cables until repairs have been completed. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the ecm. As well, affected ecms, installed by dealers to correct servicing issues, will also need replacing. Note: this recall supersedes recall 2005126.

  On certain atv's, incorrect routing of the throttle cable may cause the cable to bind in the chassis. If the cable is bound and the handlebars are turned either full right or full left, it may cause the throttle to open and allow the atv to accelerate. Unexpected acceleration could cause the operator to lose control of the vehicle and crash, possibly resulting in severe injury or death. Correction: dealers will re-route the throttle cable.
