Thor motor coach (tmc) is recalling certain 2014-2017 tuscany xte (models 34st, 36mq, 40ax, 40bx, 40ex and 40gq), 2013-2018 tuscany (models 38sq, 40dx, 40kq, 40rx, 42gx, 42hq, 42wx, 44mt 45at and 45lt) and 2016-2020 venetian (models a40, b42, f42, g36, j40, l40, m37, r40, s40, and t42) motorhomes. The rear reflectors within the taillight lens may be too high, reducing the vehicle's visibility. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment." tmc will notify owners, and dealers will install adhesive reflectors, free of charge. Recall 136287 [USA]: Electrical arcing in the presence of leaking power steering fluid can increase the risk of a fire.
Thor motor coach (tmc) is recalling certain 2011-2017 thor tuscany and venetian motorhomes, built on freightliner custom chassis corporation (fccc) chassis. The power steering hose on the affected vehicles may be routed incorrectly, and, as a result, the hose may rub against the power stud on the starter motor, possibly causing electrical arcing and a power steering fluid leak. fccc has notified owners, and fccc dealers will reroute the power steering hose to provide proper clearance, free of charge. Thor motor coach (thor) is recalling various 2003-2018 recreational vehicles, equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. The affected vehicles are built on a freightliner custom chassis and have steering boxes that were manufactured using incorrect internal spacers, resulting in premature wear in the connection between the steering wheel and the front axle. tmc will notify owners, and freightliner custom chassis dealers will inspect and replace the steering box if necessary, free of charge. In the affected vehicles, the dinette convertible table top insert may slide out of position allowing the insert to flip up if it is sat on. tmc has notified owners, and dealers will install an additional support bracket to slide the table insert into, preventing the insert from flipping up, free of charge. Issue: on certain motorhomes, the rear reflectors may not be installed in the correct position. Canadian regulations specify where the reflectors must be placed. Safety risk: a motorhome with misplaced rear reflectors may be less visible to others. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail. Recall 2018228 [Canada]: Steering
On certain vehicles built on a freightliner xbr chassis, a rubber-coated braided power steering hose may have inadequate clearance to the starter power stud due to incorrect routing. This could cause the power steering hose to rub against the stud on the starter motor, which could cause an electrical arc and a power steering fluid leak. A power steering leak in the presence of an electrical arc could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. A power steering fluid leak could also require additional steering effort which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: daimler trucks of north america service facilities will reroute the power steering hose to ensure proper clearance to starter stud.

Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. On certain motorhomes, an opening in the wall of the compartment that houses the keyless entry module could allow for moisture to enter the compartment. If moisture were to enter through the opening, it could contaminate the keyless entry module, potentially causing an electrical short, which could result in the wiring to melt, smoke, or lead to a fire, increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will seal the opening in the compartment wall with expanding spray foam.

On certain motorhomes, when the throttle pedal is released, the associated throttle pedal sensor may not return to zero, causing the engine brake to fail to activate as expected. This could cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Recall 2016298 [Canada]: Brakes
On certain motorhomes equipped with a heavier weight adjustable foot pedal, the brake activation signal to the motorhome’s brake lights and to certain towed devices may not deactivate when the motorhome service brakes are released. This may cause the motorhome brake lights to potentially remain illuminated, which would result in the following road users being unaware of the driver's intentions. Additionally, if the brakes of a towed vehicle were to remained engaged, it could result in a loss of vehicle control. Both of these conditions could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Daimler trucks north america authorized service facilities will replace the torsion spring of the pedal assembly with an improved spring.
Recall 2016286 [Canada]: Steering
On certain motorhomes with steering gears mounted on the front axle, an incorrect spacer may have been installed. This may result in wear over time, which could lead to a loss of the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and front axle wheels. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will modify the affected assembly. Note: owners are advised not to drive their motorhomes until a replacement steering gear is available.
Recall 2015529 [Canada]: Structure
On certain motorhomes equipped with lippert components inc. Electric entry steps, an internal bolt on the steps that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps could fracture. This results in the fan gear disengaging from the steps, which could cause the steps to stop in an unexpected position and appear to be loose or unstable. If the steps become unstable, it could cause a person to fall, resulting in injury. Correction: dealers will install a step retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism, and all bolts of the mechanism will also be replaced.

Recall 2015371 [Canada]: Accessories
Certain motorhomes were built with a defective dinette table top insert. The table top insert could slide out of position while in the sleeping position and could flip up, which could cause a fall by the occupant, potentially resulting in injury. Correction: dealers will install an additional support bracket that will provide clamp force on the insert and prevent the insert from flipping upwards.

LTR 120519 - EQUIPMENT: This letter stated that there were no service bulletins or technical service bulletins issued for the month of november, 2019.
LTR 110317 - EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL : This letter stated that there was one (1) service notification issued for the month of october, 2017.
This vehicle contains a bi-directional relay (bird) which interconnects the house and vehicle batteries for charging via shore power, generator, or engine alternator (while driving, of course) and for the aux start function in case the engine battery is dead. This relay (or its control circuit) is subject to failure. I am on my third in less than 2 years. The most common symptom is lack of charging on the house batteries. However, it can also lead to a dead engine battery if that battery becomes depleted while parked even though connected to shore power or using the generator. In this case, the aux start will not function as it uses the same relay. This could leave one stranded in the backcountry with no engine starting capability. In my case, we were parked and connected to shore power for many days. The engine battery was apparently depleted by some small drain. Although the house batteries were fully charged, we could not start the engine to leave.

I've notice that their has been a recall or attention brought to the window shades falling while driving. I have had 4 double window shades fall to include my drivers windshield one while going down the highway. I know of several other tuscany owners that had the same thing happen to them. Can tuscany be added to the recal list. Please.
