• Recall 208724 [USA]: Overheated electrical components can melt and increase the risk of a fire.
  Tiffin motorhomes, inc. (tiffin) is recalling certain 2018-2022 allegro and allegro breeze motorhomes. The buss bar may be improperly secured, which can cause electrical components in the dc distribution panel to overheat.
  dealers will replace the buss bar with a cable, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed march 18, 2022. Owners may contact tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-0261. Tiffin's number for this recall is tif-120.

• Recall 212875 [USA]: Unsecured passengers have an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.
  Tiffin motorhomes, inc. (tiffin) is recalling certain 2018-2022 allegro breeze, allegro red, allegro, allegro bus, phaeton, and 2018-2021 zephyr recreational vehicles. The sofa seat belts may not have been installed correctly, which could result in unsecured passengers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 210, "seat belt assembly anchorages."

• Recall 130445 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
  Tiffin motorhomes, inc. (tiffin) is recalling certain 2009-2018 allegro and allegro red, bus and phaeton vehicles, 2009-2010 bay vehicles, 2011-2018 breeze vehicles, and 2009-2015, and 2017-2018 zephyr vehicles. These motorhomes are equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.   On certain motorhomes equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly. • Recall 2022058 [Canada]: Electrical
  Issue: on certain motorhomes, the nuts on the bus bar in the dc power distribution panel may not be tightened properly. As a result, the bus bar could overheat and melt other parts. Safety risk: an overheated or melted electrical panel could create the risk of a fire. Corrective actions: tiffin will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to inspect and tighten the nuts on the dc power distribution panel. On motorhomes with the optional larger 2000 w inverter, the dealer will also remove the bus bar from the dc power distribution panel, and replace it with a cable.

• Recall 2021541 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
  Issue: on certain motorhomes, the seat belts on the sofas may not be properly installed. As a result, the seat belts may not work as designed in a crash. Safety risk: a seat belt that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective actions: tiffin will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to inspect and repair the seat belts on the sofas, as necessary.

• Recall 2018710 [Canada]: Brakes
  On certain motorhomes equipped with a cummins isv5.0 light-duty diesel engine, the belt for the air compressor may slip and reduce air output. This could cause a reduction in braking performance, and if warnings are ignored, could result in the sudden application of the parking brake. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: cummins-authorized dealers will replace the existing high mount air compressor configuration with a new low mount air compressor configuration.

  On certain motorhomes, the latch on the entry door may not engage properly. This could allow the door to open unexpectedly when the vehicle is in transit, which could increase the risk of injury. Correction: dealers will adjust the entry door to ensure that the latch engages properly.

Entry door latch on our tiffin 2018 allegro bus unlatched as we were in motion on a highway

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 tiffin allegro hitched to a freightliner chassis. The contact stated that while driving down an incline, the exhaust brake system activated causing the brake lights to the freightliner chassis to activate. As a result, the brake lights remained activate on the rv as well and the contact was concerned that that they would overheat during the sixteen mile downhill drive. The contact mentioned that only the towed vehicles brake lights should illuminate and that the brakes should only activate when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to freightliner dealer: m & m coach at 5787 mccully st, chino, ca 91710 where they attempted to turn off the brakes lights but failed. The freightliner manufacturer was notified of the failure where they informed the contact that the multiplex system was programmed where the brake lights remain illuminated when the exhaust brake system was activated. The approximate failure mileage was 6,400. No further information was available for the freightliner chassis.
