• Recall 80208 [USA]: The sensing algorithm or thermal switch installed to shut off power to the refrigerator when high temperatures are detected due to a possible hydrogen gas leak may not shut off in sufficient time to prevent a fire.
  Tiffin motorhomes is recalling certain recreational vehicles equipped with 1200-series norcold refrigerators. The population of refrigerators being addressed contains either a sensing algorithm or thermal switch to shut off power to the refrigerator when high temperatures are detected in order to prevent a potential fire. The response times of the sensor algorithm and thermal switch devices to stop power are not sufficient.
  tiffin motorhomes is working with norcold to identify and notify any affected owners. Owners will be instructed to contact norcold dealers to receive the remedy free of charge. • Recall 73362 [USA]: If a leak occurs and the unit is continues to operate, hydrogen gas may be expelled and can be ignited, resulting in a fire, possibly causing serious injury or death.
  Tiffin is recalling certain recreational vehicle equipped with norcold model 1200lr and 1200lrim refrigerators, manufactured from december 1, 2001, with serial numbers between 1273701 and 1536607, non-consecutively. A fatigue failure in the section of the cooling unit which contains the refrigerant could allow the liquid solution to slowly leak. If a leak occurs and the refrigerator continues to be operated after solution circulation has ceased the heat source could generate very high temperatures. At such high temperatures, the cooling unit could rupture.

• Recall 88031 [USA]: The temperature increase at the wheel end can eventually lead to soft pedal conditions due to brake fluid boil, and possible extended stopping distance increasing the risk of a crash.
  Navistar is recalling certain model year my 2001-2008 workhorse w20, w21 and w22 chassis and certain model year 2009 through 2011 monaco rv admiral, arista, monarch, and riptide recreational vehicles equipped with axles that include bosch zops or zoht pin slide hydraulic disc brakes. When combined with occasional or seasonal vehicle operation may experience calipers sticking in the applied position. This can result in abnormal heat generation at the wheel end causing brake drag. The driver would normally have warning of the brake drag if undetected by the driver.

• Recall 89298 [USA]: Release of coolant under certain conditions could ignite and result in a fire.
  On certain motor homes equipped with a two-door refrigerator manufactured by the dometic corporation, these refrigerators may have a defect in the boiler tube. Pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present.
  tiffin motorhomes will be working with dometic in order to repair these refrigerators (please see 06e076). Dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. Dometic has retained stericycle inc. To manage this campaign. Stericycle will assist the owner in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. • Recall 34061 [USA]: In some of the affected vehicles, the brake system warning indicator will not illuminate when the ignition is in the start position or for a low brake fluid condition, if the body builder relied solely upon ford's ivm compliance statement for the brake system warning indicator.
  Certain motor home chassis fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 105, "hydraulic and electric brake systems." the brake system warning indicator may not function as required by standard.
  dealers will repair the brake warning lamp circuit. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact tiffin at 1-256-356-8661.

Correction: the brake warning indicator bulb from the right side indicator position must be transferred to the left side indicator position of the instrument cluster and the wire harness must be modified.

  Certain refrigerators used in recreational vehicles (rvs) contain either a sensing algorithm or a thermal switch to interrupt power when it detects high temperatures that could lead to a fire. An insufficient response time can result in the power not being shut-off in sufficient time to prevent a fire, which could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will install a thermocouple with a faster response time for all refrigerators with a sensing algorithm or a thermal switch.

Cummins lsc serial#46171810, diesel fuel lift pump 2002 alegro bus rv weather cold. Fuel lift pump lost gasket between mounting bracket and pump, causing fuel to drain onto starter and then ground. Have seen problem many times in past as i'm a diesel mechanic. Most always in cold weather. Same problem each time,loss of gasket, pump still functioning. Fuel leak onto starter is enough to cause fear of starter igniting fuel. Fire danger is in my opinion very high! My rv was parked in drive with no apparent leak. "key" must be in "on" position to raise landing gear,motor not running. The 5-10 minutes i took to raise the landing gear, motor was not started, left a puddle on my driveway of about an 18-24" circle. I do not know the quantity of diesel fuel that was in this circle, but i do know if it had caught fire my rv would have been a total loss before help could arrive. Again, i've been a mechanic for many years and have seen this failure numerous times. The replacement pump is supplied with the mounting bracket installed. New pump must not be removed from bracket as the gasket will not "set in" twice. I purchased the first one i replaced twice. Paid for it twice as well. Cummins does not give any instructions with the new pump, nor will they take one back that has been separated from it's base. Cummins is very aware of this problem, as they have service bulletins out for it. The web also comes up with results from a school bus site discussing a recall. This recall lists rvs in it as well. Recall#05e-007 i don't expect an answer to this complaint, but would like some sort of acknowledgement it was recieved. I will be "going to bat" with cummins in amarillo texas on monday morning the 21st of january 2008. I'm expecting a heated discussion, as i know first hand the cost and difficultly of this repair. Workhorse chassis automatic parking brake locked without warning and without pulling the auxiliary button. Would not release and i had to go under the vehicle and disconnect it. (there is no transmission lock so the vehicle can roll and has to be blocked.) fortunately i was not at speed but the repair shop advised this has happened to a customer at highway speed; causing many thousands damage. *nm *ak

2002 allegro rv, new, has demonstrated repeated safety violations, windshield wipers (2) inoperative/failure twice, once after repaired. Seat belt inoperative/failure twice, once after repaired. Windshields (2) replace twice due to stress breakage. Overhead a/c blows fuses, because of shortage, fuse panel located under closet over the proppane tank. If panel fails then fire could cause death or injury. Have all related correspondence, can furnish your office. Rv place "in-op status" with ca dmv because owner afraid to operate under curent conditions. *ak

2002 tiffin allegro has problems with windshield wipers, seat belt malfunctioned, and door locks.*mr the consumer was unable to latch the seat belt, the motor unit of the windshield wipers was completely detached from the body, both windshields broke due to stress. The vehicle had an electrical defect that continuously caused power failures and circuit breakers to blow. The commode was inoperable. The rv had a defect in the design which allowed structural movement.*jb

Tiffin motorhome problems experience with rv drivers seat belt , both windshield wipers and electrical system. Vehicle warped and misaligned body chassis. *bf the vehicle overhead a/c failed. The 20 amp fuse blew intermittently when the consumer tried to use the a/c. When the consumer attempted to buckle the belt it tightened and wouldn't release. The entrance door was out of alignment therefore it couldn't be locked form the outside. The dining seat top raised up about and inch because it had nothing under it for security. The exhaust pipe was not attached to the frame of the vehicle. The toilet valve stuck in the open position leaving the tank exposed or the smell to come back into the vehicle. The rearview mirror moved while the consumer was yielding into traffic. The windshield had stress cracks from being installed incorrectly. *nm
