• Recall 73357 [USA]: If a leak occurs and the unit is continues to operate, hydrogen gas may be expelled and can be ignited, resulting in a fire, possibly causing serious injury or death.
  Tiffin is recalling certain recreational vehicle equipped with norcold model 1200lr and 1200lrim refrigerators, manufactured from december 1, 2001, with serial numbers between 1273701 and 1536607, non-consecutively. A fatigue failure in the section of the cooling unit which contains the refrigerant could allow the liquid solution to slowly leak. If a leak occurs and the refrigerator continues to be operated after solution circulation has ceased the heat source could generate very high temperatures. At such high temperatures, the cooling unit could rupture.

• Recall 88033 [USA]: The temperature increase at the wheel end can eventually lead to soft pedal conditions due to brake fluid boil, and possible extended stopping distance increasing the risk of a crash.
  Navistar is recalling certain model year my 2001-2008 workhorse w20, w21 and w22 chassis and certain model year 2009 through 2011 monaco rv admiral, arista, monarch, and riptide recreational vehicles equipped with axles that include bosch zops or zoht pin slide hydraulic disc brakes. When combined with occasional or seasonal vehicle operation may experience calipers sticking in the applied position. This can result in abnormal heat generation at the wheel end causing brake drag. The driver would normally have warning of the brake drag if undetected by the driver.

• Recall 89300 [USA]: Release of coolant under certain conditions could ignite and result in a fire.
  On certain motor homes equipped with a two-door refrigerator manufactured by the dometic corporation, these refrigerators may have a defect in the boiler tube. Pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present.
  tiffin motorhomes will be working with dometic in order to repair these refrigerators (please see 06e076). Dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. Dometic has retained stericycle inc. To manage this campaign. Stericycle will assist the owner in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. • Recall 50638 [USA]: At night the instrument cluster lights may fail and the driver may not be able to see the instrument panel gauges and the brake warning light indicator which could increasing the risk of a crash.
  Certain motor homes built on workhorse chassis and equipped with actia corporate instrument clusters fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 101, controls and displays, and no. 105, hydraulic and electric brake systems. If the brake fail input falls below a voltage of 1.5v, the brake failure lamp and alarm will be activated. Also activation of the abs telltale when the abs is not properly functioning does not always occur.

• Recall 34066 [USA]: In some of the affected vehicles, the brake system warning indicator will not illuminate when the ignition is in the start position or for a low brake fluid condition, if the body builder relied solely upon ford's ivm compliance statement for the brake system warning indicator.
  Certain motor home chassis fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 105, "hydraulic and electric brake systems." the brake system warning indicator may not function as required by standard.

Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage.   On certain vehicles built on fccc xc motorhome chassis, in a situation where multiple alarms are active, a check engine, stop engine, or similar warning indicator is given priority over the low air alarm by the instrument system controller software. If the operator does not acknowledge these higher priority alarms a low air alarm may not be displayed. This is a non-compliance with the low air warning requirements of cmvss 121. Correction: dealers will reprogram the multi-module data controller (mmdc).

Sudden loss of brakes on a downhill grade. Had to pull to shoulder and scrape along until slowed enough to stop with parking brake. Calipers froze causing boil over of fluids that burned brake hoses and sensors.

Brake lockup after hard stop being required. Brakes worked correctly and smoothly for over 100 miles, but i had a situation where had i tried and finish my left turn (two lane highway) i would have been hit in the side by a semi-truck that decided to pass. I had the left turn signal on and was driving slow in order to make my turn when i saw the semi, at which time i pulled over to the right and hit my brakes. I then drove approx. 2-3 miles to my destination and that is when the brakes heated up, as you could smell them. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2003 tiffin allegro 31da mobile home with a workhorse chassis w22. While driving approximately 60-65 mph he engaged the brakes and he could smell smoke. He stated that when this happened he had to allow the brakes to cool off in order to continue driving. He received two recall notices and workhorse had not found a solution for the recall repair. The failure occurred intermittently. The contact stated that he was the second owner and the former owner stated that the brakes were previously repaired. He reference recall nhtsa campaign id number: 09v110000, service brakes, hydraulic. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000 and the current mileage was 37,000.

In 2008 full loss of brake functioning in our 2003 allegro motorhome with a workhorse chassis going up hill. We had motorhome towed to service center. Workhorse refused to take responsibility claiming it was my husband who held the brakes on to long. He is a professional cement truck driver and this is not the case. The brake pads show no wear they were just burned when the brake system failed. We paid to have all brake systems replaced, but now are afraid to drive the coach because after receiving the recall notice it may happen again and we are in fear of our families safety. We continue to make payments on a motorhome we are unable to use due to safety issues workhorse is unable to repair. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 tiffin allegro bay rv equipped with a workhorse w22 chassis. While driving 65 mph, the reduce power warning light illuminated as the rv stalled. The contact was able to restart the rv after several moments. The contact stated that the failure would recur intermittently on a regular basis. The rv was taken to a dealer twice and they were unable to duplicate the failure. The failure persisted and the rv was taken back to the dealer. The dealer then replaced the throttle body modular but to no avail. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 28,000. Updated 03/07/11*lj updated 09/16/11

Tl*the contact owns a 2003 tiffin allegro rv. While driving approximately 40 mph on normal road conditions, the vehicle failed to slow down when the brake pedal was depressed. Suddenly, after pumping the brakes several times, the vehicle came to a complete stop. The abs warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel and remained lit until the engine was turned off. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection and they stated that there was brake failure. The technician replaced the brake system; however, the failure recurred. The vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign id number 03v149000 (service brakes, hydraulic;switches:brake warning), although the failures were identical. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 1,800 and current mileage was 9,600.Updated 01/09/09. *lj updated 01/12/09. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2003 tiffin allegro recreational vehicle. While driving less than 60 mph, the brakes failed. The contact depressed the brake pedal and it extended to the floor. He was able to maneuver the vehicle off the road and continued to pump the brakes. The brakes finally became operable after several attempts. He later received a recall notice stating that there was a recall on his unit. The remedy offered a new design on the braking unit; however, the parts would not be immediately available. Dt*: the contact stated while driving 15mph the vehicle stalled twice. Both times the vehicle was towed to the dealer where the fuel pump was replaced.

Motorhome lost power on 4 different occasions and suffered a severe jolt while travelling 60 - 65 mph on 3 diffrerent occasions.*ak
