  On certain vehicles fitted with optional in-cab batteries, fuel lines may contact the cab power harness, resulting in chafe damage that could present a fire hazard. Correction: dealers will reroute and secure the fuel lines.

• Recall 1998006 [Canada]: Suspension
  On certain trucks, the non-drive axle front axle hubs could experience hub flange fatigue cracking under normal operating conditions. Fatigue cracking could result in wheel separation and the possibility of an accident without prior warning. Correction: vehicles will be inspected and hubs will be replaced as required.

• Recall 1997092 [Canada]: Steering
  On certain trucks, the steering shaft may contact the top of the firewall adapter opening. Over time the adapter could wear a groove in the steering shaft and eventually cause the steering shaft to fail, resulting in loss of steering control and a possible crash. Correction: firewall adapter plate will be modified on affected vehicles.

• Recall 1996091 [Canada]: Electrical
  On certain vehicles, the windshield wipers could interfere with the main cab wiring harness causing one or more wires to eventually wear through. This could result in a short circuit of certain wires which would cause the engine to stop. If this were to occur when the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed and manouevering through traffic there would be the potential for a crash. Correction: main cab wiring harness routing will be modified.

• Recall 1996122 [Canada]: Brakes
  Note: certain trucks equipped with westport ws-16 front axles with eaton es 16.5 x 5 or 16.5 x 6 brakes. In these combinations the front brake return spring contacts the hub after about 20% wear of the brake shoes. Further wear of the brake material will lead to wear of the return spring and the spring may eventually fail prematurely. Pieces of the failed spring may then lodge in the brake cam causing either the affected brake to stay applied when the other brakes have been released, or stopping the affected brake from applying when the other brakes are applied. Either of these scenarios may cause the vehicle to be pulled in a lateral direction off the road or into on-coming traffic. Correction: front brakes will be modified by installing horse collar/double return spring kits.
