SB-10053063-1187 SEAT TRACK ASSEMBLY—SURFACE CORROSION OR RUST FORD: 2009-2012 Escape TSB 13-6-2 MERCURY: 2009-2011 Mariner The article supersedes TSB 13-2-19 to update the the Service Procedure, Part List and warranty causal base part number. ISSUE Some 2009-2012 Escape and 2009-2011 Mariner vehicles may exhibit rust or corrosion on the front seat track assemblies. ACTION Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Remove the affected front seat assembly. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-10. 2. Remove seat track from seat base. Refer to WSM, Section 501-10. 3. Clean the track assembly with a wax and grease remover and allow to dry. Use Motorcraft Metal Brake Parts Cleaner or equivalent. 4. Remove rust and corrosion using 220 grit sandpaper. 5. Blow loose material from the seat track with compressed air, and clean again with Motorcraft Metal Brake Parts Cleaner or equivalent. 6. Mask off motor and harness. (Figure 1) Figure 1 - Article 13-6-2 7. Paint the seat track using Dupli-Color Ceramic Ford Semi-Gloss Black Engine Paint or equivalent. Allow adequate time for drying. 8. Install seat track and seat. Refer to WSM, Section 501-10.
