Background
American Honda (AHM) is investigating certain 2004-2008 TLs & TSXs with a complaint of the Malfunction Indicator
Lamp (MIL) on with the DTC P2138 (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor A/B Incorrect Voltage Correlation) stored and
poor engine performance. To fully understand the cause of this condition, AHM would like to collect specific parts from
the vehicle prior to you attempting any further repair of any kind.
Qualifiers
AHM is interested ONLY if the vehicle meets the following requirements:
1.
MIL On with DTC P2138 stored
2.
APP (Accelerator Pedal Position) sensors have not been replaced previously
3.
Mileage must be over 80,000 miles
Action Required
If you have or know of such a vehicle, please call Technical Research & Support (TRS) Group at 800-880-1072. TRS will
need to record certain vehicle information and provide you with further instructions.
