• Recall 141851 [USA]: If the accelerator pedal binds, the engine may not quickly return to idle after the pedal is no longer pressed, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Dorman products, inc. (dorman) is recalling certain accelerator pedal assemblies part numbers 699-114 and 825-5029-1, sold as replacement parts for 2003-2006 acura mdx, 2004-2008 acura tl and tsx, 2003-2007 honda accord, 2005-2006 honda cr-v, 2007-2011 honda element, 2005-2008 honda pilot and 2006-2014 honda ridgeline vehicles. The rotating portion of the accelerator pedal assembly may bind. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 124, "accelerator control systems."
  dorman will notify owners, and qualified service facilities will replace the affected accelerator pedal assemblies, free of charge. The recall began december 9, 2019. Owners may contact dorman customer service at 1-800-523-2492, using option 5. Dorman's number for this recall is as1019xxxx.

• Recall 93359 [USA]: A vehicle stall increases the risk of a crash.
  Honda is recalling certain model year 2004-2008 acura tsx vehicles originally sold in, or currently registered in, connecticut, delaware, illinois, indiana, iowa, kentucky, maine, maryland, massachusetts, michigan, minnesota, missouri, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, vermont, virginia, west virginia, wisconsin and the district of columbia. In states that use corrosive materials for deicing, driver's footwear may bring in materials that saturate the vehicle's carpeting, which is in contact with the vehicle's engine electronic control unit (ecu). As a result, the ecu case may experience rust or corrosion. This damage may potentially cause the engine to stall.
  honda will notify owners and acura dealers will inspect the vehicle and replace any damaged ecu, free of charge. All vehicles will have a waterproof cover installed onto the ecu, free of charge. • Recall 74318 [USA]: Oil leaking onto a hot exhaust pipe will generate smoke and a burning smell, and could potentially result in an under hood fire.
  Honda is recalling certain model year 2004 through 2008 acura tsx passenger vehicles manufactured between september 25, 2002 and february 13, 2008. Prolonged high under hood temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate prematurely and may cause the hose to crack and leak power steering oil.

• Recall 2013082 [Canada]: Electrical
  On certain vehicles operated in areas where road salt and de-icing chemicals are used, if the driver enters the vehicle with a salt/snow mixture on their feet, this could melt and soak the carpet, allowing the salt-water solution to contact the base of the engine control unit (ecu). As a result, the ecu could suffer corrosion damage, which may cause the engine to stall. Engine stalling would result in a loss of vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver’s reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will install a waterproof cover over the ecu. A damaged ecu will be replaced.

The contact owns a 2007 acura tsx. The contact stated that the emission warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with a defective ecm/pcm due to salt corrosion. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v093000 (engine and engine cooling, electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Power steering makes an extreme screeching sound and honda dealership in eau claire, wi, says they cannot perform the recalls, and that i have to go to acura, which is 2 hours away from me and cannot get there. I feel that honda in eau claire should be able to do it.

Immobilizer green key light will not go off. I have been troubleshooting and found corrosion in the pcm/ecm control unit that is under the center counsel. Salt-water soaked the carpeting and that corroded the frame of the unit and got inside and onto the circuit board. I checked for a recall and there is one for this model and year. It asked for the vin # and it came back telling me it was included in the recall. My question is why other vin# is covered for this problem but mine is not. Corrosion is corrosion and the cause is a saltwater soaked carpeting next to the drivers gas pedal. Car was stationary, private drive and city street please explain.

The car started to make funny sounds under the hood. Once i arrived home i notice a trail of fluid leakage so i checked the power steering reservoir and it was tapped dry, absolutely no fluid. I had to replace the entire rack and pinion because the passenger side boot had a leak due to the seal. This was not an inexpensive repair. *tr

Took the car for a test drive before i purchased it, no leaks and everything worked fine. The next morning i noticed a wet spot under the car, took it to the nearest shop and found out the power steering rack was leaking.
