Inflators
Today, May 24, 2018, Acura is announcing a warranty extension for 2002-17 Acura vehicles. This warranty extension
applies in cases where any of the replacement driver’s and/or front passenger’s airbag inflators have failed internally.
To help administer this warranty extension, it was divided into a total of 13 bulletins that will be released between May
24, 2018 and the third week of June.
Background
This warranty extension is being administered in response to a class action settlement. During the warranty extension
period, clients may be eligible for repairs only if the inflator in their vehicle is found to be defective as outlined in the
applicable service bulletins below:

Clients may also be eligible for reimbursement for related repairs made at their expense before the issuance of these
warranty extensions. Reimbursements cannot be processed by dealerships; they must be requested through the claim
process established through the class action settlement. Direct all questions related to this or any other aspects of the

Parts to repair vehicles are available through normal parts ordering procedures.
Clients were notified about the class action settlement and warranty extension in September 2017.
