June 26, 2014 Service Bulletin 14-022 SB-10056004-4499 BTB 51796 (1406) ACC/CMBS Indicator Is On With DTC 30 AFFECTED VEHICLES Year Model 2010 MDX 2011−13 MDX Trim ALL With Sport /Sport With Entertainment ALL With Advance/Advance With Entertainment VIN Range ALL ALL SYMPTOM The ACC/CMBS indicator is on with DTC 30 (brake light relay circuit malfunction). POSSIBLE CAUSE The control unit misinterprets inputs from the brake pedal position switch. CORRECTIVE ACTION Update the ACC/CMBS software. SOFTWARE INFORMATION NOTE: Unnecessary or incorrect repairs resulting from a failure to update the HDS or MVCI are not covered under warranty. MVCI Control Module (CM) Update: Application Version 3.01.40 or later Database update 25-APR-2014 or later HDS Software Version: 3.014.009 or later Before beginning the repair, make sure that both the HDS and MVCI are updated as listed above. Do only the update listed in this service bulletin. Check that the MVCI indicates the applicable program ID listed below (or a later program ID) as the Recommended Update when the update begins. If the MVCI displays This vehicle does not need an update at this time during the update, the software for this service bulletin is already installed. With the power mode set to OFF, check the brake lights without pressing the brake pedal. Are the brake lights off? Yes – Go to step 2. No – This bulletin does not apply. Continue with normal troubleshooting. 2. Press the brake pedal and check the brake lights. Do the brake lights come on? Yes – Go to step 3. No – This bulletin does not apply. Continue with normal troubleshooting. 3. Set the power mode to ON. 4. Clear the DTCs with the HDS. 5. Update the ACC/CMBS software. Refer to Service Bulletin 01-026, Updating Control Units/Modules.
