Description of Change
This document announces a change to engine brakes. The shape of the engine brake and
location of the engine brake solenoids have changed.
Reason for Change
To standardize engine brake design across the ISX12 and ISX12 G engine models.
Service Instructions
The two engine brake designs require different lash settings, which can be verified from the
dataplate attached to the engine brake assembly (Figure 1). Both engine brake designs are

interchangeable and can be installed in any configuration front to rear provided the correct lash
settings are used according to the engine brake assembly dataplate. The engine brake design
does not need to match in both the front and rear positions.

to Procedure 020-024 in Section 20.
