Description: Some vehicles listed below may exh ibit the following condition (s) due to an inoperable A/C pulley disc limiter. • Noise from the A/C compressor du ring operation • A/C compressor is disconnected internally and A/C system is inoperable Follow the procedure outlined in this bulletin to replace the A/C Pulley Assembly and the A/C Disc & Hub Assembly to correct this condition . *** DO NOT REPLACE THE ENTIRE A/C COMPRESSOR TO REPAIR THIS CONDITION. *** Disc & Hub Replace only the affected parts shown. ) Applicable Vehicles: • 2009 MY and later Genesis (BH) vehicles produced between 4/30/2008 through 7 /24/2012 • 2011 MY and later Equus (VI) vehicles produced between 7/13/2010 through 7/24/2012 Parts Information: Part Name Part Number QTY Pulley Assy - A/C Compressor 97643-3MOOO 1 Disc & Hub Assy -A/C Compressor 97644-3MOOO 1 Description Warranty Information: Op Code Operation Op Time Causal Part# 9 7705ROB Pulley Assembly 0. 7 M/H 97644 -3MOOO Nature Code Cause Code N29 C06 Circulate To : Service Manager, Warranty Manager, Service Advisors, Techn icians , Fleet Repair A/C COMPRESSOR REPAIR PROCEDURE SUBJECT: REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Prepare the vehicle for underhood repair work . 2. Remove the cooling fan and the serpentine belt. 3. Remove the 8mm center bolt from the A/C compressor and disc. - ! NOTICE Take extra care to prevent damaging this bolt. 4. Remove the disc and then disassemble the external snap-ring to release the pulley. ~ ! NOTICE Use a snap-ring plier and take extra care to prevent bearing damage. 5. Remove the pulley from the A/C compressor. • Clean off any debris from the snout of the compressor. TSB #: 13-HA-002-1 Page 2 of 3 A/C COMPRESSOR REPAIR PROCEDURE SUBJECT: 6. Position the new pulley onto the A/C compressor and reinstall the snap-ring with the facing bevel edge matching correctly as shown below. _.. - VerirfySnap Ring Direction 7. Install the new disc. • To assemble disc onto the pulley , rotate the disc counterclockwise (solid arrow on the right as shown) while gently pushing towards the compressor. • At the same time, rotate the pulley slightly clockwise (dotted arrow on the right as shown) to assist the proper seating of the disc onto the pulley. Reinstall the serpentine belt at this time. • 8. Reinstall the 8mm center bolt from the A/C compressor and disc. • Tighten the bolt to 9.2 lb.ft (12 .5 N.m). 9. Reinstall the cooling fan . 10. Verify repair. > Start the engine with the A/C off. o Visually check whether the disc and pulley is rotating properly without slipping . o Check for any unusual noise. > Turn the A/Con to maximum cold setting . o Verify that the A/C compressor operates by confirming cold airflow from the vents . > If any issues are found , turn off the engine and carefully recheck the repair work .
