Introduction
Some 2010 - 2013 model year vehicles equipped with Generation 6 navigation that have been
updated using the 13.1 map data may exhibit a missing character data (streeUcity names, freeway
shields, and landmark icons) condition . A new master DVD set is now available to update the
Navigation Update Tool.
Customers using 13.1 version 13.09 .10 map data may notice missing character data in certain
geographical areas. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

This repair is covered under the Lexus Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months
or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in

Repair Procedure
1. Confirm the condition .
NOTE
For steps 2 - 5, refer to the sections in Service Bulletin No. L-SB-0083-13, "HOD Navigation Map
Update Process," noted below for full procedure.
2. Identify the current version of map data on the vehicle ("HOD Navigation Map Update Process,"
Version Verification section).
• If the current vehicle version is V13 .09 .10, proceed to the next step.
• If the current vehicle version is NOT V13 .09 .10, STOP - this bulletin does NOT apply.
3. Confirm the current version of map data on the Navigation Update Tool is V13 .09 .11 ("HOD
Navigation Map Update Process," Version Verification section) .
4. Load the map security key onto the Navigation Update Tool ("HOD Navigation Map Update
Process," Security Key Load section) .
5. Update the 13.1 map data in the customer's vehicle ("HOD Navigation Map Update Process,"
Vehicle Loading section) .
6. Verify that the vehicle's navigation version number is V13 .09 .11 and that the condition
is corrected .
