CONDITION
•
Abnormal noise (audio distortion) may occur on some 2010-2012 MY Tacoma trucks with
the following options:
o C-Cab (Access Cab)
o Panasonic radio , faceplate ID A518A8 or A51883
•
Abnormal noise may be most noticeable with:
o
o
o
Music containi ng heavy bass
Higher volume levels
Fade set to rear
RECOMMENDATIONS

Diagnose abnormal noise per the repair manual problem symptoms table.
If diagnosis indicates radio replacement is required , the radio should always be replaced using
the exchange program to ensure :
o Warranty coverage for the repair
o Up to date software in the replacement part
