THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES SERVICE BULLETIN 08-046-13, DATED JUNE 11 , 2013, WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES. ALL REVISIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS** AND INCLUDES TWO CAUTION NOTES. THIS SERVICE BULLETIN IS ALSO BEING RELEASED AS RAPID RESPONSE TRANSMITTAL (RRT) 13-040. ALL APPLICABLE SOLD AND UN-SOLD RRT VIN's HAVE BEEN LOADED. TO VERIFY THAT THIS RRT SERVICE ACTION IS APPLICABLE TO THE VEHICLE, USE VIP OR PERFORM A VIN SEARCH IN TECHCONNECT. ALL REPAIRS ARE REIMBURSABLE WITHIN THE PROVISIONS OF WARRANTY. HELP USING THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION FOR FLASHING AN ECU IS AVAILABLE BY SELECTING "HELP" THEN "HELP CONTENTS" AT THE TOP OF THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION WINDOW. THE wiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT RELEASE 13.04 OR HIGHER TO PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE. SUBJECT: Flash: SRT Manual Transmission, Adding Launch Control Feature OVERVIEW: This bulletin involves updating the Anit-lock Brake System (ABS) module and Totally Integrated Power Module {TIPM). Also sending the cluster to the exchange center for updating. MODELS: 2013 (LC) Challenger (SRT Manual Transmission only) NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before November 28, 2012 (MOH 1128XX). SYMPTOM/CONDITION: The customer may note that the launch control feature is missing . Updating the modules will add this feature to the vehicle. DIAGNOSIS: Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in OS-046-13 REV . A -2- TechCONNECT, verify no DTC's are set. If DTCs are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin. If a customer's VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedu re . NOTE: No parts will be needed for this RRT. The cluster will be sent to the exchange center for updating. After the cluster has been updated the exchange center will send the same cluster back to the dealer. NOTE: The Customer call center will be calling the dealer with exact details on how the cluster will be handled. If the dealer or customer has any questions regarding this update, contact the Customer call center at 855-778-8326. REPAIR PROCEDURE: NOTE: Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the flash process. NOTE: If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash should be restarted. 1. 2. Reprogram the ABS module and the TIPM. Flash reprogram the modules. Help using the wiTECH Diagnostic Application for flashing the ABS and TIPM is made available through the wiTECH Diagnostic Application. For instructions select the "HELP" tab on upper portion of the wiTECH window, then "HELP CONTENTS." This will open the Welcome to wiTECH Help screen where help topics can be selected. CAUTION : ** DO NOT remove the cluster until the dealer has talked with the Customer call center** 3. Remove the cluster, follow TechConnect OS - Electrical/SJ - Instrument Cluster/Removal. NOTE: **At this point the cluster will need to be shipped to the exchange center for updating. The Customer call center will provide the dealer with the proper shipping container**. 4. 5. 6. Install the updated cluster, follow OS - Electrical/SJ - Instrument Cluster/Installation . Clear any DTC's that may have been set in other modules due to reprogramming . The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow the tech to clear them. Using the wiTECH rM application run "ABS initialization". From the ABS View screen select Misc Functions tab to run the initialization. CAUTION: **If the vehicle has under 500 Miles, the Launch control feature will not operate and will display "Not Available". The vehicle will need 500 miles of proper break-in time before Launch control will be available**. .. • -3- 08-046-13 REV. A POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
