Situation: The front overhead console lights may turn on / off unexpectedly.
Cause: This may be caused by electrical inputs from the vehicle system.
Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION:
WARNING: Prior to touching the printed circuit board, make sure your hands are clean and your body
is 'grounded out' by touching a steel work bench.

NOTE: The printed circuit board must not be replaced.
1. Remove the front overhead console lamp assembly (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 501-12).
 Follow steps 1-2 only.
2.
NOTE: Make sure no damage is caused
when disconnecting the electrical
connectors.
Disconnect the two electrical connectors.
3.
NOTE: Items removed for clarity.
Move aside the black plastic cover.
4.
NOTE: Make sure no damage is caused
when releasing the printed circuit board.
Release the main circuit board.

NOTE: Make sure all the grease is

removed from the electrical connectors.
Use the wipe supplied in the kit to make sure all
the grease is removed from the electrical
connectors.
6.
CAUTION: Do not to damage or split the
rubber sleeves.
NOTE: Install all three sleeves from the
top.
Install the three rubber sleeves to the electrical
connectors.
 The rubber sleeves must be approximately 2-
3mm from the bottom of the electrical
connector.
7.
NOTE: Do not damage the printed circuit
board.
NOTE: Locate the printed circuit board
into the four locating fixings before clipping
the printed circuit board into position.

Install the printed circuit board.
8. Install the black plastic cover.
9.
NOTE: Do not damage the electrical
connectors.
Connect the two electrical connectors.
10. Install the front overhead console lamp assembly (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 501-12).
 Follow steps 2-1 only.
11. Check the front overhead console lamp operation.
