Parcel Shelf Separation

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: The noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) pad installed to the underside of the parcel shelf may become detached.
Cause: This may be caused by poor adhesion of the double-sided tape.
Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

NOTE: An allowance equivalent to £1.50 has been allocated for the cost of the locally sourced high-strength glue and must be
claimed using 'ZZZ001'.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION:
NOTE: This procedure requires a hot melt glue gun and a high-strength glue (to be sourced locally).
NOTE: Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
NOTE: Some components are shown removed for clarity.
1. Open the luggage compartment lid.
2. Remove the parcel shelf.

3. Remove the noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) pad from the underside of the
parcel shelf.
4. Remove and discard the self-adhesive tape from the underside of the parcel shelf.

CAUTION:
Use care when
working with hot
glue.
CAUTION:
Make sure when
bonding is
complete, the
glue
manufacturer's
curing guidelines
are followed.
Failure to do so
may lead to the
NVH pad
separating from
the parcel shelf in
the future.
Using a hot melt
glue gun, bond the
NVH pad to the
parcel shelf.
 Apply a
sufficient
amount of glue
shown.
 Install the NVH
pad in stages
(one row at a
time).
• Press
down
firmly on
the NVH
pad and
allow the
hot melt
glue to
cure
before
proceeding
to the
next row.

6. After allowing the glue to dry, install the parcel shelf.
7. Close the luggage compartment lid.
