Subject: Coating Change on XY Shifter Motor End Caps

Issue Description:
The varnish coating currently used on XY Shifter motor end caps is being phased out
by the supplier.
Containment/Corrective Action:
All motor assemblies for production and service will receive new E-coated end caps
starting November 15, 2012 .
Affected Models/Population:
All Automated Transmissions
Field Strategy:
XY Shifter assemblies built with clear varnished end caps will be serviced with new
black E-coat product. All service kit numbers will remain the same , along with the
green dot marking on the end of the motors.
