File in Section: Service Bulletin Bulletin No.: Date: PI1068 September, 2013 PRELIMINARY INFORMATION Subject: DIC Activated Maintenance Service Menu May Not Be Synchronized with Oil Life Monitor (North American Market Only) Models: 2014 Buick LaCrosse, Regal 2014 Cadillac ATS, CTS, ELR, SRX, XTS 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Condition/Concern Certain 2014 vehicles have been released with IPC/cluster software that has the ability to display a service maintenance menu. This menu is currently turned off in all vehicles as delivered, but has the ability to be activated by the customer in the DIC setting menu. If activated, it will count down from 7,500 miles (12,000 km) and tell the user to go to the dealer when it approaches 0 miles/km. This information may conflict with the oil life monitor and may cause confusion among customers as to which service screen is correct. The graphic below indicates some additional information about the operation of the service screen. 3620448 Recommendation/Instructions If a customer comes in with the service menu activated, has questions about the menu or is confused to what it is used for, the technician may calibrate off the menu through SPS and indicate to the customer that it mimics or is a duplicate of the Oil Life Monitor and has been eliminated to prevent any future confusion. Important: DO NOT replace the instrument cluster for this condition.
