TO: Hyundai Dealership General Managers, Sales Managers, Service Managers, Parts Managers, and Warranty Administrators FROM: Hyundai Motor America DATE: March 10, 2016 SUBJECT: Recall 139 – 2011 Tucson Automatic Transaxle Oil Cooler Hose(s) Replacement (#16-01-012) Hyundai Motor America is launching Recall 139 for certain 2011 MY Tucsons. The automatic transmission fluid cooler hoses may have been improperly manufactured, resulting in transmission leaking from the hose(s). If enough fluid is lost, the loss of hydraulic pressure to the transmission could cause reduced vehicle mobility, increasing the risk of a crash. Technical Service Bulletin #16-01-012 provides a procedure for the installation of replacement oil cooler hose(s). In order to identify only those vehicles affected by Recall 139 it will be necessary to access Hyundai Motor America’s “Warranty Vehicle Information” screen via WEBDCS before starting the repair. The “Warranty Vehicle Information” screen will identify affected vehicles with an open Recall 139. A listing of VEHICLES is also located on WEBDCS, SERVICE tab, select INFORMATION, and select UNCOMPLETED CAMPAIGN VIN LISTING – RETAILED. TSB #16-01-012 will be available on Hyundai’s Service Website on March 10, 2016. It contains instructions on performing the service. Shipment of A/T Oil Cooler Hoses began shipping on March 10, 2016 to all dealers. Additional parts can be ordered following the standard parts ordering procedure. Customer notification letters will begin the middle of March 2016.
