Bulletin No.: PIC5992A Date: May-2016 Subject: Diagnostic Tip - ABS Lamp On With Any Of The Following DTCs C0035 C0040 Or Unwanted Traction Control Activation Models: 2007 - 2013 Chevrolet Impala 2014 - 2016 Chevrolet Impala Limited 2007 - 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix 2007 - 2009 Buick Lacrosse This PI was superseded to update Model Years. Please discard PIC5992. The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. Condition/Concern Some customers may comment on the ABS and/or TCS light being illuminated. This condition may bemore easily duplicated while turning. Recommendation/Instructions 1. Inspect the front Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS) jumper harnesses for any damage or wiring brokeninside the insulation. Running a fingernail down the wire insulation may help in diagnosing a jumperharness concern Note: Ohm checking the WSS jumper harness may not identify a concern. 2. Inspect the front WSS(s) where they pass between the knuckle and the axle. 3. Inspect for signs of water intrusion into the WSS harness. Warranty Information For wiring repairs covered under warranty, please refer to latest version of bulletin 10-00-89-005 forwarranty information on wire/connector repairs. Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
