a. Using a straightedge and a depth micrometer or other suitable measuring device, measure the depth of the
indentation in the roof opening panel net pad. Subtract the measurement taken in Step 5 from this measurement to
make sure a 2 mm (1/16") indentation has been made. If a 2 mm (1/16") indentation has not been made, repeat the
step.
(1)
Indenting the roof opening panel sheet metal more than 2 mm (1/16") may cause deformation of the roof
opening panel frame. This may prevent the roof opening panel side trim panel from setting flush against roof
opening panel glass.
8. Clean the roof opening panel side trim panel and roof sheet metal with isopropyl alcohol in the locations shown. (Figures
2-3)
Figure 2 - Article 16-0079
Figure 3 - Article 16-0079
9. Apply a one step urethane glass primer to the roof opening panel side trim panel in the locations shown. (Figure 2)
10. Apply a 10 mm (3/8") wide X 15 mm (9/16") tall bead of urethane adhesive a minimum of 30 mm (1-1/8") long to the roof
opening panel frame in the locations shown. (Figure 3)
11. Reinstall the roof opening panel side trim panel. Refer to WSM, Section 501-17.
