Condition
Some customers may comment that after opening the power liftgate, it will not stay in the
full open position and may drift down a few inches before coming to a rest.
Cause
This may be caused by an incorrect ball stud strut bracket installed during assembly.
2. If Manual strut mount bracket(s) are found on the
vehicle, replace with the correct bracket(s) for
power liftgate.
Note: Be sure to tighten the brackets to 25 Y
+/- 5 Y.
Correction
If you encounter a vehicle with the above concern,
complete the following steps:

1. Open the liftgate and inspect all four of the liftgate
mounting brackets for a letter P or M stamped on
the bracket.
Note: P is for a power liftgate system and M is for a
Manual liftgate system.
