Introduction
Some 2015 – 2016 model year Avalon, Camry, Sienna, and Tundra vehicles equipped with Blind
Spot Monitor may exhibit a Blind Spot Monitor Warning message with Diagnostic Trouble Code
(DTC) C1AB2 Short to Ground in Outer Mirror Indicator (Master) or C1AB3 Short to Ground in
Outer Mirror Indicator (Slave) stored. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address
this condition.

shown below.


Repair Procedure
1. Using Techstream, check for stored DTCs.
Is DTC C1AB2 or C1AB3 present?
• YES — Go to step 2.
• NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable
Repair Manual.
NOTE
If the Blind Spot Monitor Diagnostic Trouble Codes C1AC1 Master Module Horizontal Axis
Misalignment or C1AC2 Slave Module Horizontal Axis Misalignment are present they MUST
be corrected before proceeding with this Service Bulletin.
2. Replace the Blind Spot Monitor Sensor indicated by the DTC. (See Figure 1.)
A. Remove the Blind Spot Monitor Sensor.
