Electric Fuel Lift Pump Does Not Operate On ISX12 CM2350 X102, ISX15 CM2350 X101,
QSX15 CM2350 X105 and QSX15 CM2350 X106 Engines
Issue
The electric fuel lift pump may not operate due to a lack of voltage supply from the engine
control module (ECM). Engines may be difficult to start or Fault Code 4691 for low fuel rail
cranking pressure may exist.
Verification
Verify the Electric Fuel Lift Pump feature in INSITE™ electronic service tool Features and
Parameters is set to enable. Measure the fuel lift pump voltage as described in the
appropriate service manual.
• For ISX15 CM2350 X101 engines, use the following procedure in the ISX15 CM2350
X101 Service Manual, Bulletin 4310641. Refer to Procedure 019-397 in Section 19.
• For ISX12 CM2350 X102 engines, use the following procedure in the ISX12 CM2350
X102 Service Manual, Bulletin 4310646. Refer to Procedure 019-397 in Section 19.
• For QSX15 CM2350 X105 engines, use the following procedure in the QSX15
CM2350 X105 Service Manual, Bulletin 4332667. Refer to Procedure 019-397 in
Section 19.
• For QSX15 CM2350 X106 engines, use the following procedure in the QSX15
CM2350 X106 Service Manual, Bulletin 4332712. Refer to Procedure 019-397 in
Section 19.
While measuring the voltage at the fuel lift pump power connector, 12 VDC is not present.
Typical voltage measurements will be 3.5 to 4.0 VDC.

Resolution
Recalibrate the ECM with the latest calibration from QuickServe™ Online as described in
the appropriate service manual.
• For ISX15 CM2350 X101 engines, use the following procedure in the ISX15 CM2350
X101 Service Manual, Bulletin 4310641. Refer to Procedure 019-032 in Section 19.
• For ISX12 CM2350 X102 engines, use the following procedure in the ISX12 CM2350
X102 Service Manual, Bulletin 4310646. Refer to Procedure 019-032 in Section 19.
• For QSX15 CM2350 X105 engines, use the following procedure in the QSX15
CM2350 X105 Service Manual, Bulletin 4332667. Refer to Procedure 019-032 in
Section 19.
• For QSX15 CM2350 X106 engines, use the following procedure in the QSX15
CM2350 X106 Service Manual, Bulletin 4332712. Refer to Procedure 019-032 in
Section 19.
NOTE: Cummins Inc. strongly recommends use of the engine-mounted 3-pin
Deutch™ connector for all ECM calibration downloads. Failure to use the 3-pin
Deutch™ connector could result in a failure of the calibration transfer.
