Dealers must perform this Recall Campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail delivery

Description: This bulletin describes the procedure to replace or inspect and lubricate the secondary
hood latch on certain 2007-2008 MY Hyundai Entourage vehicles. The secondary hood latch may
become corroded over time and cause the latch to remain in the open position when the hood is
closed. If the hood is not securely closed or the primary hood latch is released while driving, the hood
may open and obscure the driver's vision, increasing the risk of a crash. The hood will not open if the
primary latch is securely latched.
Salt Belt States:
Note 1: For the affected vehicles originally sold or currently registered in one of twenty-eight (28) salt
belt states where heavy amounts of road salt are used for de-icing in the winter months, the
secondary hood latch is to be replaced. The 28 salt belt states are: AK, CT, DC, DE, IA, IL, IN, MA,
MD, ME, Ml, MN, MO, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VT, WI, WV, KS, KY, NE, ND, SD and UT.
Non-Salt Belt States:
For vehicles not originally sold and not currently registered in one of twenty-eight (28) salt belt states,
the secondary hood latch is to be inspected and lubricated or replaced if necessary.
Note 2: If replacement is not warranted, the secondary hood latch is to be cleaned and lubricated
according to the Secondary Hood Latch Inspection and Lubrication procedure on Page 3 of this
bulletin.
Note 3: If replacement is required, the secondary hood latch is to be replaced according to the
Secondary Hood Latch Replacement procedure on Page 4 of this bulletin.
