Issue
Calibrations released after June 21, 2013 will require a compatible selective catalytic reduction
(SCR) catalyst part number to be installed.
Verification
If the calibration in the engine control module (ECM) needs to be updated to a revision higher
than what is listed in Table A, the compatible SCR catalyst must be verified as per Figure 1.

How to visually inspect for the SCR catalyst that is needed with an updated calibration:
Figure 1, There are identifying dimples in the heat shield of the compatible SCR catalyst.
These dimples go all the way around the SCR catalyst. They can be found in 3 different
places around the circumference.
Resolution
If the unit does not have the compatible SCR catalyst as described above, reference
Temporary Repair Practice 1479 in QuickServe® Online to check and/or replace the SCR
catalyst at the time of ECM recalibration.
If a compatible SCR catalyst needs to be ordered, please reference the part number cross
reference in Table B:
