Revised Repair Practice for the Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)
Issue
Aftertreatment DPF repair practices have been revised for ISX12 CM2250 and ISX15 CM2250
engines.
Verification
The DPF must be replaced with a new or ReCon® aftertreatment DPF when it fails the Before
Cleaning Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter Restriction Test (see Procedure 011-085 in
the appropriate service manual) or does not meet the reuse guidelines as described in
Aftertreatment Diesel Oxidation Catalyst and Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter Reuse
Guidelines, Bulletin 4021600, during a repairable event.
Resolution
The following guidelines and procedures have been updated to reflect the same revised
procedures:



Aftertreatment Particulate Filter Procedure 011-041, in the appropriate service manual
Aftertreatment Diesel Oxidation Catalyst Procedure 011-049, in the appropriate service
manual
Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter Reuse Guidelines, Bulletin 4021600.
