Customer statement / workshop findings
Sporadic message displayed on the Driver Instrument Panel when switching ignition on - “Parking Brake: fault Contact your Bentley dealer”
Electronic Park Brake release using the accelerator pedal does not function.
Diagnostic Trouble Code U040100 – “Invalid data from ECM / PCM” is stored in the Electronic Stability Control module.
Technical background
A Software timing conflict when the Ignition is switched on, may result in a Diagnostic trouble code being stored and a warning message displayed on
the Driver Instrument Panel. The warning message willonly be present for between Two to Four seconds.
A corrective software version will be available shortly.

Measure
Following a report of “Parking Brake: fault Contact your Bentley dealer” being displayed on the Driver Instrument Panel, a loss of Electronic Park Brake
release with throttle, and Diagnostic Trouble Code U040100 – “Invalid data from ECM / PCM” being stored within the Electronic Stability Control
module, no further investigative action is required.
Use Guided Fault Finding on the Bentley approved diagnostic tool to clear the fault code.
