PURPOSE
Affected vehicles may exhibit a clicking or creaking noise from the steering wheel clock spring area
when turning the steering wheel.
This TSB instructs dealers to apply grease in a specified area to address the noise. Parts replacement
is not necessary.
BACKGROUND
Customers may complain of a noise from the steering wheel area when turning the steering wheel in
either direction. It may be described as a clicking, creaking, or rubbing noise. This may be caused by
the steering wheel assembly rubbing against the ribs of the clock spring. Application of the specified
grease on the ribs has been shown to eliminate the noise.
