IMPORTANT- Third Inspection for Oil Filters
Dear Subaru Dealers,
We sincerely apologize for needing another inspection of oil filters but, we deem it to be necessary to
ensure quality. Our vendor inspected the filters we originally collected from the field and through reports
we have received we do not have 100% confidence in these re-inspected filters.
We appreciate the time you have taken to help us address this issue.
Re-Inspected Date Codes
Please check your inventory of part numbers 15208AA12A and 15208AA15A for the following date
codes:
Case: This will have a date code of A2999x (the x can be a 1, 2, or 3)
Filter: This will have a white dot on the filter itself next to the date code. The filters with the white dot
will be inside the cases marked with the A2999x code, the dates on the actual filters will be different.
Please see the pictures at the end of this document for examples.
Return Procedures
Once you have identified the number of affected filters please let your DPSM know the quantity and a
return will be entered for you. All filters should be returned to your facing warehouse.
All available inventory showing at the RDC’s are safe to order and outside the affected date ranges.
Please reorder as needed.
Conformation of what is good and what is not:
Identification
There is a date code that appears on the side of the case and the filter itself. The format is as follows:
FYJJJS
F is the facility where the filter was made
Y is the last digit of the Year
JJJ is the Julian Date
S is shift (1,2,or 3)
Example = A22713
OK Inventory
Any Date Code starting with S1.
Any Date Code starting with S2.
Any Date Code starting with A2291x Any shift. Or higher Julian Date.
Return Inventory
Any Date Code starting with A2290x Any shift (with or without white dot). Or lower Julian Date.
Or Any case containing the Date Code of A2999x
