• Recall 147501 [USA]: The engine turning off unexpectedly can increase the risk of a crash. if a crash occurs under this condition, the air bag may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury.

The ball spring inside the switch may break, reducing the strength of the ignition switch. If this occurs, the weight on the key ring and certain road conditions could cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position to the accessory position, turning off the engine.

• Recall 95010 [USA]: Over time, migration of the moisture into the circuit board and/or into the connector cavity, may result in a short circuit of the puddle light system. this may generate heat which may melt the plastic resulting in smoke or fire.

  Subaru is recalling certain model year 2009-2012 forester vehicles manufactured from november 26, 2007, through march 13, 2012. The automatic locking retractor in the seat belt assemblies located in the rear center seating of the affected vehicles do not meet lockability requirements and fail to comply with federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 208, ?Occupant crash protection.? Specifically, the assemblies may not permit proper installation and secure attachment of a child restraint in that seating position.

  Issue: a problem with certain replacement ignition switches may allow the key turn out of the “on” position while driving. This could cause the engine to turn off suddenly. It could also cause the airbag system not to work properly in a crash. Note: this is a voluntary service campaign that is not being conducted under the requirements of the motor vehicle safety act. This problem only affects certain parts used for replacement of original parts. Safety risk: a sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. An airbag system that does not work properly in a crash could cause an increased risk of injuries.   Issue: on certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger-front airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function. Safety risk: if the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury. Corrective action: owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the passenger-front airbag inflator replaced. Note: the canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.

  On certain vehicles, the center rear seating position seatbelt, when used in automatic locking retractor mode, may not allow the proper installation of a child restraint system or booster seat and could revert to emergency locking mode while in use. Although the seatbelt would still lock in the event of a crash, the belt could loosen during normal operation and cause the child restraint or booster seat to shift or become improperly positioned, increasing the risk of injury. Correction: subaru will send owners a locking clip to be used to properly secure a child restraint system or booster seat, and an owner's manual supplement with instructions on its use. Also, dealers will replace the center seatbelt retractor upon request.

I purchased this 2010 subaru forester from a private party in 2/2021. It had about 98500 miles, ran smoothly, had service records and was up to date in maintenance. It stalled out in traffic due to low fuel and oil issues. There was oil showing on the dipstick but also oil leaking under the engine when checked at a subaru service dept. I now found that oil leaks and problems are common according to articles on line. It will cost thousands to either replace the seals or the engine!! For a vehicle of this caliber i expected years of services not immediate oil issues. This is a potential seizing of the engine issue. It consumes too much oil due to the leaks. Is there any pending lawsuits i can join to cover these repairs? Secondly the low tire light is on at all times. Air pressure has been triple checked to no avail.

Front left driver seat bracket collapsed. Seat height is unable to be adjusted, requiring the front of the driver seat to only be positioned n the lowest setting. While driving idle speed in a parking lot, there was an audible pop and the seat fell. With attempts to adjust the height, only the right side would move up and down.

My 2010 subaru forester suddenly accelerated in reverse for the 3rd time. This last time it hit another vehicle damaging it and knocked down a person that required evaluation at the er. I was in a church parking lot this last time. I do not have any pictures as i was concerned about the person hit.

My brakes failed while i was driving because subaru did not properly address recall wqk47 on my car in 2018 even though they claimed it was completed. My brake lines are completely corroded and they are refusing to honor the recall that they improperly addressed 2 years ago. They knew in 2018 when they applied the anti-rust solution that the brake lines were rusted but they did not do any repairs. Thus, my car is currently non-functioning.
