Wheel Lug Nuts- Design Change
INTRODUCTION:
This Service Information Bulletin announces a
change made to the wheel lug nuts on the models
listed above. The change is in response to a
number of reports describing rust inside of the
nut as shown here in the example photo.
A thicker plating surface is now applied during
the manufacturing process to prevent rust from
developing.
PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:
The new wheel lug nuts have been incorporated into the the production of Japan built models during
July of 2021. This bulletin will be revised with the starting VIN information when it becomes
available.
PART INFORMATION:
The new WHEEL NUT part number is 28171AJ001.
NOTE: Any orders placed for the old part numbers 28171AG000 and 28171AJ000 will be
automatically switched to the new 28171AJ001 part number.
REMINDER: Always order the most up-to-date replacement parts based on the specific VIN being
repaired.
