RATTLE NOISE FROM THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHIELD WHILE DRIVING OVER BUMPS TSB 17-0001 FORD: 2011-2016 Expedition LINCOLN: 2011-2016 Navigator ISSUE Some 2011-2016 Expedition and Navigator vehicles may exhibit a rattle noise from the roof opening panel shield while driving over bumps. ACTION Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Does the vehicle exhibit a rattle from the roof opening panel that stops when applying light pressure on the panel? a. Yes - proceed to Step 2. b. No - refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-17 for normal diagnostics. 2. Install the roof opening panel shield repair kit. Refer to the installation instructions included with the kit. PART NUMBER PART NAME BL7Z-78500B02-A Roof Opening Panel Shield Repair Kit OPERATION 170001A DESCRIPTION TIME 2011-2016 Expedition/Navigator With Roof Opening Panel: Install Roof Opening Panel Shield Repair Kit Includes Time To Road Test To Verify Concern (Do Not Use With Any Other Labor Operations) 0.8 Hr. WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
