CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: The luggage compartment lid latch cover may become detached.
Cause: This may be caused by the carpet on the luggage compartment lid holding off the latch cover and preventing
the clips from fully latching.
Action: Should a Customer express concern, follow the Service Instruction below.

NOTE: Normal Warranty procedures apply.
SERVICE INSTRUCTION:
1. Open the luggage compartment lid.
2. Remove the luggage compartment lid bump stops (where applicable).
3. Remove the two fasteners.

4. Remove and discard the luggage compartment lid latch cover.

5. Pull the luggage compartment lid carpet trim down as shown and visually check that the latch assembly clipping
features are intact and not damaged.

NOTE: Working on the luggage compartment lid carpet trim and starting from one end of the area
shown.
Push in at (1) while bending the top edge (2) towards you to flatten any high points on the return edge.
• Work along the area shown.

NOTE: Make sure to not bend the legs too far.
Bend the legs on the new luggage compartment lid latch cover in the direction shown by approximately 10 degrees.

8. Install the new luggage compartment lid latch cover by pushing with the palm of your hand on the center of the
latch cover until an audible click noise is heard.
• Push again, once on each side of the latch at points A and B to check both clips have latched correctly.

9. Pull the luggage compartment lid down by pulling on the luggage compartment lid latch cover to confirm the
integrity of the installation.
• If the luggage compartment lid latch cover becomes detached at this stage, repeat Steps 6-8.

10. Install the two fasteners.

11. Install the luggage compartment lid bump stops (where applicable).
12. Close the luggage compartment lid.
