Bulletin No.: PIT5165C Date: Jan-2015 Subject: Diagnostic Tip - Replacing Power Steering Cooler Models: 2008 - 2015 Buick Enclave 2009 - 2015 Chevrolet Traverse 2007 - 2015 GMC Acadia 2007 - 2010 Saturn Outlook This PI was superseded to update Warranty Information. Please discard PIT5165B. The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. When replacing a power steering cooler, perform the following steps to minimize the potential of introducing air into the system: 1. Block off the hoses near the cooler connection with appropriate clamps. 2. Disconnect the cooler from the lines and remove the cooler. 3. Prefill the new cooler on the bench and cap off the pre-filled cooler ends for installation 4. Install the new pre-filled cooler on the vehicle and remove the clamps on the hoses 5. Follow the Power Steering System Bleed Procedure in service information. Warranty Information For vehicles repaired under warranty use: Labor Operation Description Labor Time 7421210 Power Steering Fluid Cooler Replacement Use Published Labor Operation Time Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
