SECTION: 303-04 Exhaust Manifold Internal Failure - 2.0L GTDi Only AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE: XF (X250) Model Year: 2013 Onwards VIN: S66935 Onwards Engine: GTDi 2.0L Petrol MARKETS: NAS CONDITION SUMMARY: Situation: On vehicles fitted with the 2.0L GTDi engine only, a loss of performance may be experienced and/or the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) may be illuminated and Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0299-00 may be stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM). Cause: This may be caused by a breakdown of exhaust manifold internals causing a restriction and/or turbocharger damage. Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below. PARTS: C2D45424 Turbocharger Quantity: 1 TOOLS: Refer to Workshop Manual for any required special tools. WARRANTY: NOTE: Repair procedures are under constant review, and therefore times are subject to change; those quoted here must be taken as guidance only. Always refer to TOPIx to obtain the latest repair time. NOTE: DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero. DESCRIPTION SRO TIME (HOURS) CONDITION CODE CAUSAL PART Turbocharger - Renew 18.50.32 3.5 1 JDE34737 Read and clear DTCs 86.99.78 0.2 1 JDE34737 NOTE: Normal Warranty procedures apply. SERVICE INSTRUCTION: 1. NOTE: a faulty turbocharger must be confirmed before continuing to step 2. http://topix.jaguar.jlrint.com/topix/service/document/533652 5/1/2015 Page 2 of 2 Refer to TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 303-4D: Turbocharger Diagnosis and Testing, to verify a turbocharger issue. • If the turbocharger is not found to be faulty, submit a Technical Assistance (TA) request for further assistance. • If the turbocharger is found to be faulty, continue to the next step. 2. Install a new turbocharger (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 303-04). 3. Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply to the vehicle battery. 4. Connect the Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) system to the vehicle and begin a new session. 5. Read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). 6. Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task, ensuring all DTCs are cleared. 7. Exit the current session. 8.
