Issue:
The customer may observe a MIL in the instrument cluster relating to the engine system (check engine light) and one or more codes stored
in the PCM relating to heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) in the exhaust system. The code will refer to a fault with the pre, or mid, or post
catalyst heated oxygen sensor:
P0036, P0037, P0038, P0054, P0136, P013A, P013E, P0141, P0042, P0043, P0044, P0055, P0142, P0143, P0144, P0147, P0056,
P0057, P0058, P0060, P013C, P014A, P0156, P0157, P0158, P0161, P0062, P0063, P0064, P0162, P0163, P0164, P0167
Upon diagnosis no fault is found with the wiring harness or connector and the fault is determined to be with the sensor (having followed the
diagnostic information and help text relating to PCM codes as read by SDD).
Cause:
The root cause has yet to be identified and is currently under investigation.
Action:
Retain the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) which has been replaced for 7-10 days after the EPQR is submitted. Submit an EPQR with
details of the diagnostic work completed. Using SDD, view the snapshot data for any PCM codes which are listed. Attach this session file
to the EPQR. Include name, email, phone number for the person with the part along with the address for where the part can be collected.
