P0057
HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
DTC P0057, sometimes indicated as P005700 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a generic fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the air/fuel mixture causing ho2s heater control circuit low (bank 2 sensor 2).
The purpose of the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) is to monitor the oxygen content in the exhaust gases. Heated oxygen sensor 2 (HO2S-2) is located after the catalytic converter in the exhaust system.
The heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) is a zirconium oxide (ZrO2) sensor that produces a voltage between 0.1 and 0.9 volts. The voltage is proportional to the oxygen content in the exhaust gases.
The heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) is heated to a temperature of about 600 degrees Celsius (1,112 degrees Fahrenheit) by a heater circuit. The voltage from the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) is sent to the engine control module (ECM).
The engine control module (ECM) uses the voltage from the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) to determine the air/fuel ratio.
The heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) heater circuit is controlled by the engine control module (ECM). The engine control module (ECM) turns the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) heater on and off to maintain the desired temperature.
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the voltage from the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) and determines if the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) heater is on or off.
The engine control module (ECM) sets the DTC P0057 when the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) heater is off for more than 5 seconds.
The engine control module (ECM) sets the DTC P0057 when the engine control module (ECM) determines that the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) heater is not on.
The engine control module (ECM) sets the DTC P0057 when the engine control module (ECM) determines that the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) heater is not working.
The engine control module (ECM) sets the DTC P0057 when

2010 SUBARU FORESTER with 80000.0 miles
All the lights on the dash came on at once . The non skid, check engine , cruise lights wouldn't go off . I took it to the Subaru dealership and they made out like it was nothing . I took it 3 different times they ended up charging me $500 dollars and never fixed anything. In a months time they came back on. I've had them turned off several times for them to come back on in 2 days time. I just recently put it back in the garage and was told the scanner found various codes. They cleared all codes , but code P0057 kept coming back for communication between antilock brakes and ecm. Possible cause- wiring, abs module,or ecm.
